🐈‍⬛ MISSING SOMEONE’S SWEET BLACK KITTY? 🖤

This sweet baby showed up at our place in Cadiz tonight, wearing what looks like an old plastic flea collar. She is incredibly friendly and absolutely STARVING, so of course we had to feed her! ❤️

Is someone missing their little black kitty? We would love to find her family!

Unfortunately, we already have two cats on the property who don’t get along, so we can’t keep her long term.

Before we had a set menu, we had a simple tradition: one unique meal each weekend, prepared for whoever pulled up a chair.

This Wednesday, October 7, we’re going back to those roots.

Introducing Return to Roots at Boyd’s Tavern—a different homemade supper every Wednesday, with the evening centered on food, friends, and family.

Our first supper is White Chicken Lasagna: creamy chicken, spinach, and mozzarella, served with Tavern salad and garlic bread. $15 per plate.

Call it date night. Call it the calm in the middle of the storm. Bring the family, catch up with a friend, or grab a quick bite before church.

No games. No flash. No frills. Just good, honest food in an intimate, old-world tavern setting—and a little time to enjoy the people across the table.

We’re making a limited batch. It’s here ’til it’s gone.

Yesterday, we had the joy of welcoming Hailee and her loved ones to the Red Brick Inn for a bridal shower inspired by the magic of the Shire. From the whimsical details and thoughtfully prepared bites to the intimate tablescapes and beautiful outdoor setting, every detail was designed to make the day feel special.

But one moment will stay with us long after the last plate was cleared.

Hailee came up to Joey and me and shared that this was something she had dreamed of since she was a little girl. To hear that, knowing we had the opportunity to help make a piece of that dream come true, was a reminder of why we love what we do.

At the Red Brick Inn, we believe a gathering should be more than an event. It should be a memory you carry with you. A place where your vision comes to life, your people come together, and the moments that matter become part of your story.

🧱 Sunday Stays: A Little Escape, A Lot of History

Fall is settling in around the Brick, and if you've been thinking about a little getaway, we're going to give you a few reasons to make it happen. 🍂

Spend the day exploring Land Between the Lakes. Wander the trails. Look for elk and bison. Get out on the water while the weather is still perfect for kayaking.

Then come back to the Brick, settle into your room, and let us take care of the rest.

🕰️✨ Stories from the Brick: When the Season Turns ✨

There’s a little shift happening around the Brick.

The days are finally giving us a break from the 90s and 100s, the evenings are getting a little cooler, and if you look closely, you can see the first hints that fall is on its way.

This is one of our favorite times of year in Cadiz.

It’s the time when Land Between the Lakes starts calling us outside again. The trails become a little more inviting. The mornings can be wrapped in mist. And you never quite know what you might encounter around the next bend. 🦌

The water is still beautiful, but the lakes are beginning their seasonal drawdown. It’s the perfect time to pull the kayaks back out, explore a little, and find those quiet corners of LBL before the real rush of fall arrives. 🛶

And then there are the leaves.

They’re not quite putting on their show yet, but you can feel it coming.

There’s something about this little window between summer and fall that I absolutely love. The air changes. The pace slows down. The landscape starts getting ready for its next chapter.

And here at the Brick, we’re getting ready too. ❤️

Maybe that’s what I love most about this place.

There’s always a season changing, a story waiting, or another little piece of history revealing itself.
