As most people can see the fire department can cage is full. The fire department greatly appreciates everyone’s support. With that being said, they have no more room for your cans at this time. Please DO NOT start stacking them outside of the cage. An appointment is scheduled and it will be cleaned out soon.

For the record: The governor has in fact not made a decision on if pools will open due to COVID-19. Also, the Burt Pool is in need of quite a bit of work. At the end of the 2019 season the pool was barely holding water. We have held meetings and invited the public to join. We have made a committee which is very small due to the lack of people who want to make the commitment. That being said there have still been fundraisers and we do appreciate all the support, and there was great support! We have contacted a pool company and we are still waiting to hear back from them since fall, to give us what it will take to fix the pool. At this time the City of Burt has decided to take this year and put the money we budget for the pool, to pool expenses. Thank you for all your patience

The Burt City Council has decided to keep the pool closed for the 2020 pool season.

The council decided as of May 19th garbage will return to curbside pick up. Recycling will resume May 26th.

The VFW Memorial Day Service will be held at the cemetery so that people can still attend if they wish and still practice social distancing. The service will start at 11 a.m.
