Wednesday words of wisdom from a sloth:
"Rest is the root of strength. Protect it like the branch that holds you."

I didn’t intend to wander far today.

The branch was comfortable, the shade familiar, the pace exactly what a sloth prefers.

But afternoons have a way of opening doors you didn’t know you were looking for.
A soft glow from inside,
the quiet murmur of people who aren’t in a hurry,
the gentle promise of a place where time stretches instead of snaps.

I followed it—slowly, of course.

And there it was:
a seat that welcomed me without expectation,
a drink that asked nothing of me,
an atmosphere that felt like it had been waiting for someone who moves at my speed.

I settled in.
Not to work.
Not to meet.
Just to be.

I had not planned to leave my branch.

The afternoon sun was warm enough, the breeze slow enough, the world quiet enough for a sloth to simply exist.

But something in the air tugged at me—
a soft clink of glasses,
a low hum of conversation,
the unmistakable promise of a place where time forgets to hurry.

I followed it.

And there it was…
a seat that didn’t ask anything of me,
a drink that didn’t demand a rush,
an atmosphere that felt like it had been waiting for someone who moves at my pace.
