Whiskey Wednesday is here!

What makes The Dalmore shine? It’s all in the aging. Most of their whisky rests in ex-sherry casks from Spain’s González Byass — and the 12 Year shows it beautifully.

Half spends 9 years in ex-bourbon casks, then 3 in sherry; the other half, 12 years in bourbon. Bottled at 40% ABV.

Sherry-forward on the nose with dark chocolate, vanilla, and oak. A smooth, rich palate with toffee and citrus. The finish brings coffee and dark chocolate.

Whiskey Wednesday is back!

This week, we are featuring Blade and Bow Bourbon.

Notice the key hanging from the neck of the bottle. Blade and Bow Bourbon is named after the parts of a key—paying tribute to the five keys that once hung on the door of the historic Stitzel-Weller Distillery. These keys stood for the five pillars of whiskeymaking: grains, yeast, fermentation, distillation, and aging. Stitzel-Weller produced some of the world’s greatest bourbons before closing in 1992. Now under Diageo, the distillery has been revived to blend and bottle whiskies—each bottle of Blade and Bow containing a hint of original Stitzel-Weller bourbon, preserved through the time-honored Solera process.

As for the taste, Blade and Bow is soft and sweet, like most good Kentucky bourbons. Vanilla on the nose with a very slight floral note.
