I wish to thank everyone who made it to Happy New Beers yesterday. It was absolutely wonderful to see so many friends. Enjoyed the food drink and love throughout the day.
Wow you people sure can eat drink and be merry.

Mashed some grains today and now on to the boil. 11 gallons of IPA is in the works.

The chest freezer I have been using for my beer keezer died. New freezer is slightly different so I must build a new collar.
Old cheap freezer had a painted collar of used 2 x 6 lumber.
New freezer gets major face lift. Going to be pretty. Oak and clear coat. The sanding has just begun.

This day has been long...it reminds me of why I never want to do this full time.

This working is hard on old guys.

Of course it would seem easier if I didn't get started this month doing a year's worth of brewing in 2 months.

Couple more batches to be done before I'm done. I have the stuff for 1 and have orders in for the last ingredients on the other 2.

I'll get it done somehow. Well I better get cleaned up and quit whining. Beer does not brew itself.

Brew club has decided to participate in Fort Madison's sip and stroll this year. I am in the middle of brewing my own collection of beers but I will take a day and make one for sharing.

SMaSH time...single malt and single hop

American pale ale brews tomorrow.

Should be able to come in with 10 gallons at 8% if things go well.

Better get to bed. Busy day and lots to do. Skipping the RIM system and going back to my roots. Should be fun.

From what I could salvage. I got a good 5 gal. Of what I can not say, but I shall call it beer.

Just in case you didn't already know. I am an idiot. Nobody knows my system or equipment better than I do.
So who was the one who forgot a hose clamp and lost 7 1/2 gallons of wort that took all day to clean up?
I had this planned for almost a year and now it is not going to happen. Maybe after the other brewing is done I will get the grains together and try again.
I am going forth with what I could salvage with a few alterations and brewing a small experiment batch of 5 gallons.
It may be one of my HAPPY NEW BEERS.
And I was completely sober when this happened, maybe I should have started drinking earlier. I tend to second guess myself when I am drinking...

Oh well, I won't give up now. I've got more to do and it won't do it by itself.
