Saturday & Sunday "Somethings" are themed safe-space community social events hosted at Laboratory B. We were originally founded as an offshoot of VGC (Vermont Gaming Community) and BGGC (Burlington Girl Gamer Community) activities. What do we mean by safe-space community social events? "Somethings" strives to be a positive environment where typically gendered or exclusionary activities can be de-m
ystified and a grand time is had by all. Have you ever heard that "Girls don't play Magic" or "Guys don't Knit"? We know for a fact that's not true. Note that we currently limit "Sunday Somethings" to female-spectrum folk (women/trans/Q) to ensure a safe and non-threatening learning environment. If you are a cis man, be an ally by sharing our page and events. Then, come join us for an all-genders "Saturday Somethings" event! "Saturday Somethings" are events run by and for all genders and orientations, and we encourage you to bring yourself, bring a friend, even bring supplies (if you have them), and dabble in something that you may not have otherwise tried before: nail polish? yarn sports? Magic: The Gathering? Our various theme nights might include one or more of the activities below:
- Film discussion night
- Board games / Card games
- Dance / console games
- Cocktail workshop (21+)
- Knitting / Crochet / Weaving
- 3D Printing workshop
- Magic the Gathering
- Nail painting
- Silk-screening T-shirts
- Sewing
- Fencing
- Potluck / Cooking
- Button-making
We'd love for you to message us if you have ideas for a new Somethings workshop (Saturday OR Sunday). Somethings loves to encourage polite and meaningful discussion. However, we do not tolerate hateful or discriminatory language or behavior. Help us to foster this environment in all of our events, and always speak up if something is not OK!
