Dear Bar Chord Patrons,
If anyone knows the whereabouts of these three works of art please DM is. There will be no questions asked but we want them returned. It is so sad that after such an evening of love and farewells that a small group of people ruined by stealing the armor off the walls. The first painting pictures is a a very sentimental family heirloom. Any leads would be helpful. Thank you

Riding a wave of love from last night. Flatbush/Ditmas Park, you really showed up!!! And what a way to go out. Thank you all for your comments, texts, calls, stories, hugs, tears and more hugs. Bar Chord may be closing but we are still part of this truly special community and we will see you around

Bar Chord is closing.
It’s hard to believe that it’s been a decade since we made the dream of opening a little music bar in Ditmas Park a reality. Nothing lasts forever and it is time for us to move on. We are filled with gratitude for the amazing community that is the Bar Chord family. There were marriages, babies and so many friendships formed. Most of all there was music. We want to thank every musician who ever graced our little stage for the greatest gift there is, MUSIC. Music has the power to connect, to heal, and to show and share love at the highest level. We wanted to showcase the great artists in our midst without the barrier of a cover charge and we thank the community for receiving such a diverse range of talent. There were many challenges along the way, the biggest being the pandemic, but with the loving support of this community we persevered. We want to thank all of our staff past and present or their hard work and dedication. Tonight will be the last night at Bar Chord so if you want to stop in and share a memory, we’d be so happy to see you. We leave with full hearts and excitement for the next chapter.

5 years ago we were honored to have Nigerian artist Lalou Senbanjo paint a mural in our space that represented the spirit of music, love and the neighborhood. Last night at the Met Gala mayor Eric Adams wore a jacket featuring Lalou’s work….
