The Bā’sik jazz jam session turns 14 years old!!
The official anniversary gig is this Sunday, August 23, 2026. As always, there are discounted drink specials available to musicians who come out to sit in on a jazz standard. This week only, Kato Sake Works is giving away a free welcome drink to musicians who sign up to sit in on a jazz standard.

The session continues this Sunday night at Kato Sake Works in partnership with Jazz Generation (www.jazzgeneration.org) and is an official KEYED UP event!

House band starts at 7pm. Visiting musicians invited to sit in until 10pm. Guitar amp and piano keyboard on premises. The first bass player to sign up on the list to sit in gets a drink on the house band’s tab!!!

Today is the official birthdate of the original Basik jazz jam session that took place on August 19, 2012. I hope you can join us this Sunday at our new home, that graciously took us in just a few months ago, Kato Sake Works!!! We’ll be celebrating. And to show how much they care about us, the folks at Kato Sake Works are offering a free welcome drink to any musicians that come out to sit in on a jazz standard. Make sure you get on the sign in sheet to sit in if you are a musician who plays jazz standards, and check in with host, saxophonist Matt La Von
