Dark Rails was a very unexpectedly standard experience

Our 1st reaction was that felt like an interesting IPA and stout mix

But, what was most surprising was that there really wasn’t anything more to comment on

The flavor, the style, the heaviness...they were all pretty standard. They were all kind of expected. Nothing really stood out

That’s not a good nor a bad thing, just an observation

It’s definitely best suited for as a winter or cold weather beer, and opens up a bit in a glass, but other than that it was all pretty basic

Basic is totally fine. Basic is average. There’s nothing wrong with basic. It also just kinda felt like another beer...

If that’s what you’re looking for then this is a very safe bet and we’re sure you’ll enjoy it, but it was just a little boring for us

If you end up giving Round Table Brewery’s Dark Rails a try, then leave us a comment and let us know what you think! 💭

Aftertaste: burnt alcohol sugar

Imperial Gridlock was...unfortunate

Our 1st reaction was that it had a bad aftertaste that was just way to strong with the alcohol taste and a bad sweetness to try and cover it up

If you’re looking to prank your friends, need a white elephant gift, or if you’re in a beer club with a mission to try the world’s beers, then sure, give it a go

But otherwise, just…don’t

It is slightly better in a glass, but not enough to save it

Five Bouroughs has some really good beers with flavors that are much better balanced, but this is not one of them

If you end up giving Five Boroughs Brewing’s Imperial Gridlock a try, then leave us a comment and let us know what you think! 💭

𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐟𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭 𝐏𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

This IPA🍺 is from

Grapefruit Peel Calculation is a fairly standard IPA with a gentle grapefruit aftertaste

It’s light and bright and well balanced

It starts off with a slight tart and dryness mouthfeel that stays pretty consistent throughout the beer and finishes with that grapefruit aftertaste that resolves fairly quickly

Grapefruit Peel Calculation also doesn’t dull your tastebuds which is nice and allows you to enjoy a different beer afterwards if desired without wrecking your sense of taste

Is it revolutionary, no. But it is a solid experience and not one we regret trying

Cheers!🍻

Aftertaste: hard to explain. Weirdly metallic with funky hops

Color Out of Space was interesting...

Our 1st reaction was that it has a really strange funk flavor profile

It’s not particularly good, but it’s also not particularly bad

Surprisingly, it works really well with honey roasted almonds

But despite the almonds, the aftertaste is still overpowering, and not in a good way

A glass helps a bit, but it’s still not great

This beer isn’t really suited to any one situation. It’s just kinda weird and doesn’t fit any vibe or atmosphere

The can’s pretty cool tho

𝐎𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞

This Sour Ale🍺 is from

Orange Creamsicle is an excellent beer!

It straight up smells like an orange creamsicle and straight up tastes like an orange creamsicle

It is SO GOOD

there’s only a tiny bit of sour and it’s a super drinkable, very flavorful, and an overall excellent beer experience

We found it was much more orange in the can, but much more creamsicle in a sours glass. We preferred the sours glass and think you will too

This is a 4⭐️ beer if we ever saw one and it’s a sour!!! Which is both wild and incredible!!

Orange Creamsicle is exactly as advertised and 100% worth picking up if you see it in the wild. Honestly though, it’s worth going out of your way to find

Cheers!🍻

Aftertaste: milk sugar

Caramel Cookie Bar was better than we expected, although it still suffers from many of the usual problems Southern Tier has with their imperial stout line

Our 1st reaction was that it was very sweet

The main flavor is overwhelmingly chocolate, but strangely smelled like a peppermint mocha in the bottle. Luckily, that peppermint smell went away after pouring it into a glass

Other than chocolate, the only other two flavors are alcohol and milk sugar. This is one of those problems that always seems to be present. The balance is off. Even though it’s at 10% it shouldn’t taste and smell like alcohol, it’s a stout

The milk sugar seems to just be a convenient way to try and hide that alcohol flavor, but it only succeeds in making it overly sweet and artificial tasting

All that said, Caramel Cookie Bar is still one of their better imperial stouts. It’s drinkable and we didn’t hate it, but we also didn’t love it and it never struck the right balance

It’s best for a cozy night in from the cold weather, or if you’re looking to try something different and want something to nurse and sip on

If you end up giving Southern Tier’s Caramel Cookie Bar a try, then leave us a comment and let us know what you think! 💭

𝐎𝐟𝐟-𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐝𝐚

This Cream Ale🍺 is from

Off-Road Soda is very light, almost like a Pilsner

There’s not a whole lot of flavor going on, but it’s very easy to drink making it a nice pregame beer

We also really like the can!

There’s not much to say, but it’s a decent enough beer and one you could easily pick up and enjoy whenever you want without having to give it much thought or energy

Cheers!🍻

Aftertaste: lychee sweetness and a coating on tongue and teeth that dries out your mouth

Ambio was a fascinating experience

Our 1st reaction was that raspberry and lychee are front and center on that first sip

It has a nice juicy quality to it and great mix of flavors. Unfortunately, we could find any of the coconut flavor. Which is a shame because we think that would have been a really nice touch

The sour finish and the drying effect makes you want to take another sip, but you can really sit with the flavors for a while. It doesn’t rush you

This is a great beer for a movie, friendly conversation, and a family game night

𝐏𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦

This Smoked Lager🍺 is from

Ploom is definitely smoky and it is the predominant flavor, but it’s not too much. It has just the right amount of smoke

It has a medium body, but doesn’t sit heavy in the stomach

Additionally, it opens up really well in a glass making it an even better experience

It’s not easy drinking, and while it is very enjoyable, it really only works with a plain salt potato chip if anything at all

Ploom needs to be an intentional decision so you can take your time with it and savor all it has to offer

If you see this on the shelves it is 100% worth picking up. Even if you don’t like smoke, you’ll like this

Cheers!🍻

Aftertaste: Malty

Christmas Ale is a nice, typical holiday party beer

Our 1st reaction was that it had a nice balance of cranberry, malts, and “Christmas spices”

It’s a very laid back beer that works really well as a movie beer

You can take your time with it and just enjoy. No rush, no pressure, just a chill night with a warming beer

𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐫

This Pilsner🍺 is from

Polished Pilsner is a good, standard Pils

It has more richness than we were expecting with more maltiness flavor

It also tasted more fresh than other pilsners while still being light and still easy to drink

There is a lingering bitter aftertaste and a slight drying effect, but overall was a solid experience

Cheers!🍻

Aftertaste: Bitterness from the coffee and cacao nibs

Moove on Up joins the exclusive ranks of 4⭐️ beers The Beer Club BK has reviewed. Congratulations!!!!

Our 1st reaction was that it had nice strong coffee notes with a gentle chocolate flavor that rounds out the edges

It’s perfect for a cozy evening in and during the winter holidays

There’s a really good balance that makes this beer a step above the rest

If you have the opportunity, you should definitely grab yourself a 4-pack and experience this excellent milk stout
