BLUES & SOUL @ POSTunderground brings an evening of deep groove, improvisation, rhythm, and Black musical traditions to POSTUnderground on Friday, June 12 beginning at 7:30pm; featuring three distinct performances rooted in Soul, Blues, Jazz, Funk, Hip-Hop, and Afrobeat.
Opening the evening at 7:30pm is ORDER of SONANCE; a rotating Jazz-Funk collective featuring musicians who also collaborate with WAMPTRONICA on recordings and live performances. Blending improvisation, layered rhythm, and groove-forward compositions, ORDER of SONANCE sets the tone with adventurous musicianship and immersive sonic textures.
At 8:30pm, The ZYG 808 Experience takes the stage; combining Jazz, Soul, Hip-Hop, Afrobeat, and experimental groove culture into a dynamic live performance driven by rhythm, movement, and improvisational energy.
Closing the night is the MWALIM Trio featuring Mwalim DaPhunkee Professor on vocals, guitar, and keys; alongside Richard Johnson on bass and The ZYG 808 on drums. The trio delivers a powerful blend of Blues, Soul, Jazz, Funk, and underground groove traditions through storytelling, soulful improvisation, deep rhythms, and electrifying musicianship rooted in both Black musical tradition and contemporary artistry.
