Weekly recap, or whitest dancing you've ever seen recap? A little late here, but we really appreciate you all bearing with us and giving us some much needed grace while we took a couple days to clean up and recharge. Last week was awesome. We kept getting busier as the week went on, culminating in a huge Friday lunch rush with Celeste and Lora, followed by another packed dining room for dinner, and a Saturday that was busy as it's ever been. We had a great crowd for the Penn state football game which was handled perfectly by Nicole and Katelynn.
Then we had our proverbial OGs, the dream team combo of Holly and Rosemary for a very busy dinner rush. While I keep replaying a couple dishes I would've plated differently, a couple prep items I would've doubled up the stock on, we got through it as we always do, following the tone set by our leading ladies in the front of the house. I still don't know how they serve 60 people at once so throughly. It's magic in motion. If you've never dined with us, come check it out for yourselves. You just won't find a team of women who work harder than our 12 servers. This video recap is a unique one. Monday night we served a different kind four top, or four legged top fa watch for the clip of the male deer nodding at Larry. Two bucks acknowledging eachother's families. Pretty cool. Also, we got to watch the Phillies play together as a family for the first time in a few weeks. At about the 1 minute mark, there's a quote from Jesus luzardo that I think we all could glean a little something from; we're all a little stronger than we know. At the end of this recap is a list of 432 people I could think of who have left a mark on the pines tavern, whether in the building, online, or in most cases both. I love you guys, and I'm sorry if I forgot names that my parents would more easily remember. I'm not the brightest bulb in the crayon box.
Thank you all for allowing us a couple days to reflect and recharge in eachother's company. Subbing out the fluorescent kitchen lighting for some sunlight was much needed. Stay tuned for announcements regarding new specials, and little commercial in the works. Love ya

Big time shoutout to some of our biggest supporters. Seeing your names come across through the notifications really makes my day. When I’m back there in the hot kitchen trying to find new ways to engage with our people, you guys are always making me feel seen & appreciated. When you take time to show us love on here, it really moves us to go harder, and serve more deeply & thoroughly. We love you guys, I love you guys. Thank you for being generous with your energy, and building the culture that makes the pines tavern a place of inclusion for everyone 💚 ps there are quite literally dozens more who I tried to tag but not everyone allows/enables tagging in posts, you guys know who you are and I certainly am thinking of you, so drop a comment on here that way I can thank you!!

Sunday end of the week recap with a little announcement coming out later but first, wanted/needed to say thank you to everyone who has come out and dined with us over the last week. The gratitude and appreciation I have for you all coming out and spending your hard earned money in our building needs its own, separate post. All I can think about right now is driving up the quality of your experience; maximizing the value of your time with us by providing food that leaves you feeling taken care of. Whether you’re one of our beloved regulars who carry and create the culture of the pines, or a less frequent guest, thank you for trusting us with your food & drink experiences. I promise you, we are always reaching for the next best way to convey our appreciation for the role you play as our guest through service. We’re in a growth-phase right now. Emphatically so. Keep rocking with us, cuz we’re climbing towards making this place the best it’s ever been in the 56 years since our doors opened, and I want you all to be there when we make that happen. Thank you, love ya, love you all

Sunday recaps are coming out later and later, cuz your boy’s tired 😂But one thing that gives me life is my teammates. Anyone who knows us, knows we’re a sports family. I played ball through college and semi pro, Michael is the literal voice of the Trenton Thunder, and Christopher is a city champion sprinter in track. We were instilled with the understanding that being on a team is the ultimate way of life. As the weeks go on, our teammates keep raising the bar (no pun intended? I don’t even know at this point) from starting the week with Celeste, Deb, Holly, and Diane, to closing it out with Nicole and Lora, I keep seeing individual acts where these women place themselves 2nd and the team 1st. Deb helped us remain focused while training à new member of our kitchen staff, who happens to be a pizzaiolo trained by the legendary DeLorenzo family famous for their Trenton tomato pies, Diane helped us while working shorthanded early in the week, Celeste dominated another busy Friday lunch full of bar service, dining room guests, and takeout orders. Nicole ran the Saturday lunch & happy hour while also training a new member of the crew. Holly came in over an hour early to ensure all of our guests were taken care of. I want to make sure I single out the person who fired me up a little extra this week. Lora worked Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, back-to-back-to-back. Anyone who has a pulse knows, in this industry those are the busiest shifts. While we were doing the floors in the dining room I mention to Chris “yo Lora is working Thursday, Friday AND Saturday this week” he corrects me and says “actually she’s been working like 8 days without a day off”. Instantly woke me up. When you have a teammate like that, who’s willing to just keep going, aside from literally keeping business afloat, it just puts so much Into perspective. When you have a team full of women who are constantly out working the version of themselves from yesterday, you have no choice to but to be impressed, awestruck, and beyond thankful. Tonight I’m pouring one out for my teammates, toasting Lora, Holly, Nicole, Deb, Celeste, Diane, Rosemary, Kenzie, Ally, Ashley, and Amanda
