A former Ube Bake Off Champ is back! 👑💜

Ava Marie won the Ube Bake Off in 2019 with her Ube Flan, and this year she’s switching things up with an Ube Cannoli with Hershey’s Chocolate.

Her Italian-inspired creation is a nod to the Italian community of South San Francisco, where she lives, while bringing a Filipino favorite into the mix.

Ava has been cooking since she was 13 and has been part of the 7 Mile House community for years. She’s competed, cooked, blogged and shared her love of the kitchen with us in so many ways.

Kathy is bringing her Ube Crunch Cake to this year’s Ube Bake Off! 💜

🇵🇭🐷 THAT’S A WRAP ON THE 2026 ADOBO COOKOFF! 💜

Another year, another unforgettable day of adobo, community, friendly competition, and a whole lot of heart. 🥹 And in just two hours, this incredible community helped us raise almost $4,000 for SOMA Pilipinas!

And after competing in our very first Adobo Cookoff in 2017, Artnelson Concordia Artnelson Concordia finally got his People’s Choice win! 🏆 He came all the way from Oxnard, arriving the day before the Cookoff, and after all these years, we couldn’t be happier to see him take home the title.

Our Critics’ Choice winner was Elizabeth Thompson, whose dedication deserves a round of applause!! Can you believe she was peeling eggs at 3am to get her adobo ready?! 👏🏼

It’s moments like these that remind us the Cookoff is about more than the competition, it’s about bringing people together through food and for a good cause.

Since 2017, the Adobo Cookoff has brought home cooks and our community together to celebrate this beloved dish while giving back. Together, we’ve raised $25,000+ for local nonprofits!

👨🏼‍🍳 Artnelson Concordia, Artnelson Concordia

Artnelson’s Batangeño Beef Rib Adobo pays homage to his father’s roots in Batangas and the region’s long-standing cattle industry.

While many adobo recipes center around chicken or pork, his version celebrates beef — a dish he has been making for decades, long before beef short rib trends took off. Slow-roasted with the classic adobo trifecta of toyo, s**a, and bawang, his recipe is a tribute to tradition and family, and remains one of his mother’s most-requested dishes.

After losing her father two years ago, Daisy set out to recreate the adobo she grew up eating. Without a recipe passed down to her, she relied on memories, trial and error, and the flavors that connected her to her family. Her journey reflects a familiar Filipino experience: food as a love language and a way to preserve the people we miss.

Elizabeth grew up with her family’s adobo recipe from their restaurant in the Philippines. Like many family recipes, it was never measured — just “a little bit of this and a little bit of that.” Over time, she adapted it to her husband’s sweeter palate, creating a version that has become a staple at nearly every family gathering. Made with pork shoulder with eggs, her adobo represents how recipes evolve while keeping their roots intact.
