Warm and dry weather is in store for today. Relative humidity falling to around 15-25% will result in near-critical fire weather conditions in the Iron Range to Arrowhead and areas north. Fires could spread easily in these conditions this afternoon and evening. Another round of near-critical fire weather is possible Wednesday afternoon.

Minnesota DNR's new electronic licensing system launches June 9! 📆

The DNR is rolling out a modern licensing system replacement that is built for today's customers and technology. Phase one of the launch in June will include the hunting and fishing modules. 🤳

The new system offers more flexibility than ever — three ways to buy a license (mobile app, online, or in-person from a license agent) and three ways to carry it (paper, PDF, or stored in the app). 📱

As part of this transition, hunting and fishing licenses will be temporarily unavailable for purchase between June 2 - 8 as we switch over to the new system. During that time, people may fish without a license in Minnesota. All regulations for the season and bag limits will remain in effect. On June 9, fishing licenses will again be required and you will be able to purchase them through the new system. 🎣

Turkey hunters need to register their harvest before end of day (11:59 pm) June 1. They will be unable to register their harvest during the transition/cutover period. 🦃

For now, nothing changes for those needing to register or title recreational vehicles and watercraft. That module of the new system will launch at a later date. 🚤

It's in May!

Hello neighbors,

We were very happy to hear that the Stuart Trail Fire is now 100% contained. Because of this, families will finally be able to return home and begin accessing the damage.

I remember being in that same position about a year ago after the Camp House Fire. It is such an overwhelming feeling, and making those first decisions can feel incredibly scary. Please know you are not alone.

We want to help support our neighboring community however we can. We would love to connect you with some of the same resources and organizations that Brimson Strong worked with during the Camp House Fire recovery process. There are currently two nonprofits wanting to offer assistance to those affected.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, have questions, or simply do not know where to start, please reach out. Even if you just need help understanding the next steps or basic guidance, I would truly be happy to help point you in the right direction.

Unfortunately, Brimson Strong is unable to provide financial assistance at this time, but we would absolutely be happy to help mentor and guide you toward resources that may be available for recovery.
