If you've spent anytime in Bozeman, Montana then you have either seen the iconic Rocking R Bar sign or you've stopped in for a drink. The bar has been a popular hangout of Montana State University students and Bozeman residents for generations. The R Bar has been a huge supporter of the Montana State University athletics and is proud feature Bobcat Memorabilia throughout the Bar. On March 5th, 2009 a gas explosion rocked Bozeman and destroyed a whole city block, including the Rocking R Bar. The explosion garnered national headlines which featured the iconic Rocking R Bar sign laying in a pile of rubble. On July 26th, 2011 the Rocking R Bar reopened it's doors with a huge celebration. The community support was overwhelming and was indicative of what this establishment has meant to the town and university students. Whether you are a Bozeman resident or just stopping through on your way to Yellowstone National Park you will feel right at home at the Rocking R Bar. So swing by to see how the old melds with the new in the rebuilt bar. Chat with our friendly staff or watch the big game. We feature eighteen TVs and four pool tables so you will never run out of entertainment at the Rocking R Bar. We hope to see you soon.

From Bar Songs to Wedding Bells ♥️

Brody and his wife Lindsey have been together for 6 years and now have two beautiful boys! But their story started right here at the R Bar.

The two had been talking but hadn't officially gone on their first date yet. She told Brody to meet her at the R Bar, somewhere he'd never been before, and honestly, she wasn't even sure he'd show up!

She arrived early with some friends, had a few drinks, and found herself on stage for country karaoke, belting out “Daddy's Money” by Ricochet. And wouldn't you know it, that's exactly when Brody walked in. He scanned the bar looking for her, only to find her singing her heart out!

To make things even better, Denton Cornell was bartending that night, and she somehow kept calling Brody “Denton” all evening. 😂

Two and a half years later, the two got engaged and married. They welcomed their first son, Colton, in 2024, followed by their youngest, Caden, in 2026.

Although they relocated to Oregon in 2025, the R Bar still holds a special place in their hearts. From mechanical bulls and dancing on the bar to spinning the wheel for shots, they've got plenty of memories from their time here.

Six years, a wedding, two kids, and a whole lot of memories later, it all started with a country karaoke night at the R Bar. ❤️
