LONG POST- but worth the read!

WOW what a ride these last 4 days! With the storms that came through this past Thursday it has been such a whirlwind. Friday morning was a scramble to get a generator rented- we ended up renting 3- then came the hooking everything up and unplugging and replugging into the generator and having Jake Emery come out and hook a generator up to my main box to run the lights and big fridge. Keeping up with the gas every 4-5 hours was not easy especially since the local stations were closed due to no power. The runs to Otterbein at 4 am or Kentland were the longest 30 minutes of my life. But 4 days and 95 gallons of gas later we have power.
I don’t know what I would have done without Pat, Trever, Jake Emery, Chris Terrell, my entire staff, and so many others. My decision to remain open was purely because there was no where else open and available for folks to come and get themselves some hot food, gather with friends and family and get through this craziness together. I want to thank the community for supporting me and checking in to see if I needed anything. The messages and calls were very heart warming and appreciated. The amount of offers I received from folks for me to sleep and shower at their homes was overwhelming. This community is amazing. I am so grateful for the amazing community and customers that walk through my doors and I want you all to know how much I appreciate each and everyone of you. Thank you!

Hello Saturday! It looks like it’s going to be a beautiful day! We have generator power and will be open today at 11 am. We will sill be running as planned with our Smelt fry starting at 4. Old 41 will be playing tonight from 8-11 as well. The back yard is ready for tonight and I do suggest you bring a lawn chair! The food is hot, the beer is cold and we have plenty of room! Hope to see you all here today and tonight! It’s going to be an awesome day!

We are opening at 3:00! We are fully operational in bar and in kitchen —EXCEPT we will be running by candlelight and having a great AMBIANCE! Food is hot, Beer is cold and the bartender is ready to serve you with a smile!
