Gratitude in abundance 🙇🏻♀️ Last night, we celebrated Tsukimi and the harvest moon with ✨ Tsukimi, or “moon viewing,” is a Japanese autumn festival that honors the beauty of the full harvest moon with offerings of rice dumplings, pampas grass, and seasonal foods to express gratitude for abundance and reflect on the changing seasons. After a multi-course meal with sake pairings, we invited guests outside for Gavin and Rachel’s famous fat coffee and pumpkin spice tallow donuts under the full moon 🌕🫶 Live in the Concord area? In Japanese folklore, the bunny in the moon (月の兎, tsuki no usagi) 🐰🌕 earned its place there through selflessness: when a hungry god disguised as an old man asked animals for food, the rabbit, having nothing to give, offered itself instead. Touched by its kindness, the god saved the rabbit and placed it on the moon, where it’s said to still be seen pounding mochi during the full moon 🙇🏻♀️✨
