Our hearts are heavy after the recent crash that damaged the building. We are deeply saddened for the family of the man who lost his life, and our thoughts are also with our staff during this incredibly shocking and difficult time. Thankfully, no one on our team was hurt — and we are especially grateful that the one employee who was in the building at the time was not in harm’s way (he would have been if it happened just moments later).
The pub will be closed for repairs, leaving our 10 employees without income while they process the shock of everything happening this week in Boring.
While insurance will help with the building, it takes time to process and doesn’t cover immediate employee wages. The community has already stepped up, and a fundraiser has been set up to support our team directly — helping cover up to three months of wages if needed, so they can take care of themselves and their families while the pub is closed.
