I don't say a lot on here right now because there is so much I am not allowed to make public and I don't want to have to watch every word I say.

However, I feel that an update is overdue, so I will share what I can now.

After many weeks of preparation - asbestos testing, disconnecting utilities from the building, etc - the demo work on Stoner's Grill is scheduled to begin on Friday, November 21. We are now only waiting for Centerpoint to complete their work order before the demo can begin.

I am sure work will begin on the building next door (Sassafrassy's other building) before the work begins on ours.

It's a disappointment that we are being fined by the City on a daily basis for something over which we had no control. (Which is what the Mayor referenced in his monthly letter that was enclosed with the water utility bills this month. And, insult to injury, is attempting to charge retroactively.)

We have had no control over the sequence of events since day one.

That being said, please say a little prayer for us as we continue to navigate through this situation.

We attended the Board of Works meeting today with our attorney. And although I cannot share much information, I can tell you a few facts, some of which you had probably already heard a rumor about or had guessed.

Stoner's is still closed indefinitely. We had already cancelled everything through year-end to be on the safe side.

The northern end of the bar (the old Southside) has to be demolished. There is too much structural damage to repair.

The only other thing I can say is that this work should start by month-end, and I should probably have another update by that time or before.

On this day 10 years ago, a journey began with nothing more than a few thousand dollars and a dream...

Over the years, we have met so many great people, we have entertained so many with great bands and musicians, we have served countless pizzas and sandwiches, and we have served thousands of beverages.

We love and miss you all so much!!! We are sorely disappointed that we are unable to celebrate this milestone with you this year due to no fault of our own....

And although we have been silent for the last several months, there will be an update on our status within the next two weeks.

Cheers to 10 years!!!

We did not receive the news we had hoped for from the assessments today, and we are looking at being closed longer than we first anticipated. I cannot go into details as I don't have many to work with myself, just know that everyone is working with us to get to the best possible resolution and minimize downtime.

Please note the road closure of the block in front of Stoner's Grill. These barriers are precautionary for the demolition work being performed 2 doors up. Access to Stoner's will be from the East and the South. Emergency exits are clear and accessible in back of the building. PLEASE obey the safety barriers and flow of traffic.

As of today, we will be operating our normal business hours. Open Tuesday through Sunday at 4pm. However, this is subject to change at any time during the demolition project.

Below are pictures of parking availability for Stoner's. We do not own these lots, but have been told we could use them for patron parking. Please cross at the corner of 3rd and Walnut.

Stoner's Grill will still be operating normal business hours throughout the demolition. There will be access to the regular bar entrance (southern-most door) as usual from the south end of the block. We ask that you respect the barricades and safety measures that are being put in place for this project.
