The Bad Plus is concluding their 26-year career with a 2026 farewell tour featuring bassist Reid Anderson, drummer Dave King, guitarist Ben Monder, and saxophonist Chris Speed. The tour includes North American dates running from April through June 2026, with stops in Seattle, Boise (Shrine Social Club Ballroom), New York City, and Montreal.

Courtesy of our colleagues in the Morrison Center for the Performing Arts, we are delighted to host a one-hour masterclass with this group in our Recital Hall (C200).

Students and members of the public are welcome to attend!

Tonight! Catch the Boise State Jazz Orchestra live at 7:30 PM in the Morrison Center, Room B125.

This concert spotlights music by living female composers whose work is expanding the sound and scope of the jazz tradition, offering fresh perspectives and dynamic grooves. The program also pays tribute to Pacific Northwest jazz legend Jim Knapp, whose distinctive compositions have inspired generations of musicians.

Admission is $10 at the door, with all proceeds funding Boise State Music Scholarships. Admission is free for all students, Boise State staff and faculty with school ID.

Announcing our guest artist for the 2026 Gene Harris programming! Denver Based saxophonist and educuator Drew Zaremba! Selmer artist Drew Zaremba enjoys worldwide reputation as an award winning writer, a passionate conductor, and fiery performer. He has composed and arranged pieces for the BBC Orchestra, the WDR and NDR Big Bands, the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Dallas and Memphis Symphony Orchestras, and the Metropole Orkest. Drew is currently the artistic director of the Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra (CJRO).
