Shout out to the Sips and Sass ladies of Sunset & Vine. They were the top fundraising team at the NAMIWalks High Country yesterday. These ladies not only have a great time together, they have hearts of gold and generously support each other and the community.

Finally we are back to a normal schedule after this crazy winter weather. Today we were able to taste some awesome wine from Monticello Vineyards in Oak Knoll. Hayden Corley is the third generation winemaker and was so interesting. His family makes Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the Burgundian style, as well as a great Cabernet and Merlot.

We will have this wine on the shelf for those interested in purchasing a bottle, and talked to him about coming back for an event later this year or next.🤞

I am not good at waiting😂, and where there’s a hammer, there’s a way. 🔨The shop is now accessible coming from down the street… by the Ale House. I cleared enough enough ice off the sidewalk to make a safe walk for everyone.

Caution! ⚠️ Don’t walk on the sidewalk coming from Main as it is very slick and dangerous.

Well this ice storm has sure messed things up!! I walked to the shop today in the middle of the road, as that was the driest, safest place to walk. The steps in the front of the shop and the sidewalk were covered with a little bit of snow and a WHOLE LOT OF ICE! 🧊 🥶

But never fear, my guardian angel Aidan came to the rescue and dug… I mean, picked and hammered until one side of the stairs is now clear. The sidewalk is still fully covered with ice, and is like walking on a skating rink on a hill. 😳 It has been reported to the Town, so hopefully it will be cleared asap. (They have a lot going on this week.) All of this to say—we will be open tomorrow!!

Big thanks to Aidan!!💪 That was no easy job.

It was a glorious day for the Blowing Rock Parade! Well… it could have been a little bit warmer. 🥶 But these ladies came out with their smiles and laughter (and candy, and toothbrushes) to represent the Women Who Wine at Sunset & Vine.

This year we upped our game with a new gigantic wine bottle, Santa and Rudolph. It was a great morning with these ladies. Thanks to them and to Chuck Germain for being our driver. ❤️🍷🎄
