Our story began with David Fong Sr. Immigrated to North Minneapolis. Began working in his father and mother's restaurant, the Moy Cafe. Joined and faithfully served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Met and fell in love with Helen in Los Angeles. After they married, they moved to Minneapolis. With a growing family, they decided to start their own restaurant business. They drove south on Lyndale Ave. from North Minneapolis. They were looking for a commercial rental in Richfield, but missed it and ended up at 98th St. and Lyndale Ave. in Bloomington. About to turn around, they saw a For Rent sign. Upon inquiry, they sealed the deal. Their small and modest venture began in 1958. They moved to its present location in 1966. At David Fong's Restaurant, 9329 Lyndale Ave. S., Bloomington, MN 55420, 952-888-9294. Proudly serving customers and our community since 1958.
