We’ve sat down at least a dozen times to write this, hoping it would get easier but that’s not gonna happen, so here goes:
As many of you already know, CooKoo’s Nest’s last day of business will be this Friday, September 30th.
The decision to close down this bar was not easy. It weighs on us very heavily that we are taking away a neighborhood staple that entertained generations before us. A lot of births and marriages, hundred of birthdays and many celebrations of life were celebrated between these walls.
Over the last 30 years, John and I have enjoyed many relationships with our customers, many of whom are now close friends.

We would like to thank ALL of our customers and employees. We could not have been as successful as we were without your support and loyalty. Thank you for being with us through all our ups and downs and we look forward to raising a glass with you all in the near future at one of the other fine bars in the area.

But before then, we hope you can join us this Friday to get together and celebrate one last time at the CooKoo’s Nest!

On September 11, we lost a long time friend of the CooKoo’s Nest and the whole world lost a brilliant, funny, humble, loving man. Pete Bushta was an amazing human who was completely in love with his daughter Holly. Our hearts are with Holly, Robyn and Maggie and the many, many people who loved him.

We hope you’ll join Maggie at the CooKoo’s Nest tomorrow, Tuesday, September 20th at 5:00 pm for a celebration of Pete’s life.

Just when you thought there would be no Christmas Tree lighting in the Village this year, Santa decided he had a different plan!

Aaaaaaaaarrrgghh!!!
Unfortunately just found out we will not be opening until early next week. Work is almost completed but inspections need to happen and that can’t be done over the weekend.
As much as this SUCKS, we’re one step closer to being together😍

We’re super excited to report that repairs have started on the destroyed meter panel behind the plaza! Should be a few more days of repairs and then inspections and then we party🍻🍸🍷!!!

Looks like we’re out of commission until early next week. Lots of inspections and lots of work needing to be done. Here hoping all the planets align so we can all celebrate getting through another bump in the road….TOGETHER!
