I came in early this morning intending to record a farewell video, but I couldn't do it. Instead, you get my mug shot in front of the bar. My good friend Kate recently pointed out that December 21st, the last day Invictus will be in this taproom, is the darkest day of the year. But as you can see in the photo, it's bright and sunny now...a sign that we have a lot to celebrate.
We created a lot of memories here...too many to mention. We laughed together, cried together, celebrated together, mourned together and cheered on our teams together. We had a wedding and reception here. We mourned the loss of our good friends' dogs. We were the place where we gathered to provide support for a lost love one. We watched countless sports games together. We celebrated USA Cup victories. We hosted podcasts here (stay tuned for an announcement on one I was invited to be on with my friend that will be dropping in January). We fed and hydrated sports teams from all over the world. The Invictus hockey team won our first year participating in the Sota Stick hockey tournament in 2019. We sponsored countless teams, schools, non-profits an community events. We celebrated the SLP State Football Championship this year and the Centennial High School football championship in 2023. We sat outside on the patio just chatting and building stronger bonds with each other. We hosted countless grooms dinners, happy hours, holiday parties, retirement parties, graduation parties and birthday parties. We hosted countless fundraisers here. You supported us throughout the pandemic. We hosted countless pre-game and post-game parties for our kids' sports teams. We met people from all over the state, country and world learning about different cultures and building relationships around beer, sports or whatever else we had in common.
I, for one, met a lot of amazing new people here that I probably would have never met had Invictus not existed. These people and memories are things that I will keep and cherish forever.
I believe we built a great community here and that is our proudest accomplishment.
With all of that, today is our last day of operation in the taproom and the Vikings play at noon today. Let's share one last Vikings game together. We hope you can join us to cheer them on together here one last time and to say goodbye in person.
Thank you for all the memories.
Go Vikes!!!
🍻Cheers!!!🍻
