What’s meaning of the name Invictus? The word “invictus” is Latin for “unconquerable” or “invincible.” Invictus is also the title of a poem written in 1875 by William Earnest Henley as he was going through a difficult time of his life. The meaning of the poem to us is that despite difficult circumstances, the human spirit is unbreakable. is not just about brewing great beer, but more importantly, celebrating the unbreakable human spirit..

Whelp. That's a wrap on this chapter of our lives. Thank you to everybody who supported us over the years. We are truly blessed that you chose to be a part of our journey and community.
Many of you have already done this, but we want to hear from you. Please share your stories, photos, fun facts or whatever you think of when you think of Invictus. We've heard so many stories lately that we never knew and how Invictus played a role in your life. We'd love to hear more.
Again, thanks to everyone who supported us. It's truly been our honor and privilege to have been able to do this.
🍻Cheers!🍻

I came in early this morning intending to record a farewell video, but I couldn't do it. Instead, you get my mug shot in front of the bar. My good friend Kate recently pointed out that December 21st, the last day Invictus will be in this taproom, is the darkest day of the year. But as you can see in the photo, it's bright and sunny now...a sign that we have a lot to celebrate.
We created a lot of memories here...too many to mention. We laughed together, cried together, celebrated together, mourned together and cheered on our teams together. We had a wedding and reception here. We mourned the loss of our good friends' dogs. We were the place where we gathered to provide support for a lost love one. We watched countless sports games together. We celebrated USA Cup victories. We hosted podcasts here (stay tuned for an announcement on one I was invited to be on with my friend that will be dropping in January). We fed and hydrated sports teams from all over the world. The Invictus hockey team won our first year participating in the Sota Stick hockey tournament in 2019. We sponsored countless teams, schools, non-profits an community events. We celebrated the SLP State Football Championship this year and the Centennial High School football championship in 2023. We sat outside on the patio just chatting and building stronger bonds with each other. We hosted countless grooms dinners, happy hours, holiday parties, retirement parties, graduation parties and birthday parties. We hosted countless fundraisers here. You supported us throughout the pandemic. We hosted countless pre-game and post-game parties for our kids' sports teams. We met people from all over the state, country and world learning about different cultures and building relationships around beer, sports or whatever else we had in common.
I, for one, met a lot of amazing new people here that I probably would have never met had Invictus not existed. These people and memories are things that I will keep and cherish forever.
I believe we built a great community here and that is our proudest accomplishment.
With all of that, today is our last day of operation in the taproom and the Vikings play at noon today. Let's share one last Vikings game together. We hope you can join us to cheer them on together here one last time and to say goodbye in person.
Thank you for all the memories.
Go Vikes!!!
🍻Cheers!!!🍻

In case you haven't already heard, this summer, we announced that we sold our real estate. At the time, we were intending to relocate, but now it appears that a relocation is not feasible. There are a number of reasons why, but mainly, the cost of any real estate, ingredients and supplies is significantly higher than it was when we built our building in 2018.
It goes without saying that this is a decision we did not take lightly as we love the community here. We started this business with the goal of creating community around beer and we hope you feel we did our part to accomplish that goal. We are certainly humbled by your contributions in creating this community and we thank you for all of your support over the past 7 1/2 years.
Our last day of operation will be Sunday, December 21st. While we may run out of some styles of drinks, we should have a decent selection all the way to our last day, that is, unless you drink more than expected.
Lastly, many of you have asked us what The Tipsy Steer is going to do as they are a separate business. We are asking you to direct those questions to them as we are not privy to the conversations they're having with the new owners.
Please e-mail us at [email protected] if you have any questions and we hope to see you often as we wind things down here.
Cheers!

We wanted to let everyone know that we're overwhelmed at the response to our glass donation!!! Thank you to everyone who's contributed so far. It's worked out so good up to this point that we're going to extend the donations through tomorrow. All the proceeds will go to Homes for our Troops. Thanks again and see you soon!

In 2018, Congress passed the Farm Bill that made the production of h**p edibles and drinks legal. In 2022, Minnesota legalized their production and have passed a series of legislative action that appropriately regulate and taxed the sale of these h**p products. Invictus Brewing, along with many of our colleagues in the beer community, have been safely manufacturing and selling these products. This supplementary income has helped save many breweries and helped to keep their good people employed. It has also fueled an industry and investment outside of the craft beer industry creating even more jobs.
In October, hundreds of companies completed a long process of filing for new licenses to manufacture, sell and distribute h**p through Minnesota’s Office of Cannabis Management (OCM). This was a lot of time and money invested, but we all understood that these changes were coming and necessary to ensure a safe industry.
Now, as part of the spending bill to re-open the Federal government, an amendment was quietly inserted to limit dosing rated to .6 mg (notice the location of the decimal point) per package of h**p-derived products essentially undoing 7 years of progress.
The Senate has already voted in favor of this amendment, and now it heads to the House and will likely be voted on today. If this bill passes, h**p will become federally illegal again in just 12 months unless Congress acts AGAIN to re-legalize products that contain h**p.
This change would have massive consequences for the general public as these product will now return to being distributed through illegal, unregulated and untaxed channels. People will lose jobs and companies will have to close.
While Invictus will be exiting this market, we have friends who do work in this industry and they are good people and most are good companies trying to do this responsibly.
We ask you to make your voice heard. We are asking you to contact your Federal Representative right away and RESPECTFULLY tell them you support keeping h**p legal and accessible for responsible adult use.
