Hey Striders! A couple announcements:

🐻 The BHS Cross Country team will be hosting an Open 5k at 8am Saturday 9/5 as part of their Invitational. Registration will take place before the race starts, and they will be accepting donations to their program as the registration fee. Check it out and cheer on the team!
🦃 The Hokie Kids Run on Saturday September 19th needs volunteers! This is the evening before the Hokie Half Marathon and 5k. Sign up here to volunteer and enjoy a beautiful evening in Blacksburg while supporting the running community!

Good evening Striders! More volunteers are needed at the Draper Mile on Friday August 7th! Positions are still needed as course marshals, packet pick up, bike leads and bike sweeps. It will only be about an hour or so of your time, AND you're already at Steppin' Out when you are done 😁

Come play track with us! Join the Striders for a fun night on the track, the Striders Summer Slam! This free event is open to anyone and everyone, with multiple race distances available! Come out to the Blacksburg High School Track on Friday July 10th, and the first event begins at 6 PM.

The Striders Summer Slam is on Friday July 10, 2026. It includes the following events: 3200 meters, 100 meters, 800 meters, and 4 x 400 meter relay.
