Helen will be closed Monday, May 26 and Tuesday lunch service.

We’ll reopen Tuesday evening for dinner service — bar opens at 4 PM and dinner starts at 5 PM.

Meet Abby Sandoval, Helen’s Maître d’. Originally from Chicago with roots in Mexico, Abby moved to Birmingham to attend UAB, where she earned a degree in Chemistry with a minor in Spanish. She joined the Helen team in 2022 and has worked many roles over the years — from the door, to the floor, and behind the bar — becoming an important part of the experience our guests know and love.

If you’ve planned a special event at Helen recently, there’s a good chance you’ve already worked with Abby. From coordinating celebrations to welcoming guests each evening, she helps bring so much of the Helen experience to life. Her love for travel and experiencing different cultures continues to shape the thoughtful way she approaches hospitality and connection with guests from all over.
