Today, we’d like to honor Dave Ames, who died this Friday.
Dave always said, “beer people are good people.” We hope to live up to that. He and his wife, Kathy, got to know each other at Binghamton Brewery before we met them at Galaxy Brewing Co, before they became regulars, then friends, then family at Water Street. We were proud to be a part of their wedding, and proud to have gotten to know such a wonderful couple and such outstanding people.
Though Dave was taken from us unexpectedly, he would not have wanted us to be despondent. He would have wanted us to listen to good music, to drink good beer, and above all else to celebrate each other.
So, wherever you are, whoever you’re with, whatever you’re drinking, we ask that you join us in a toast to celebrate Dave. Here’s to you, old friend. We’re sure you made it to heaven a full half hour before the devil knew you were dead.
