🚙 Blue Ridge Jeep Jam is coming back to The Sedalia Center!

**Saturday, September 26 | 9:00 AM–6:30 PM**

We’re excited to welcome the Blue Ridge Jeep Jam, formerly the Blue Ridge Jeep Invasion, back to Sedalia for a weekend of Jeeps, trails, music, food and fun — all for a great cause!

Blue Ridge Jeep Jam is an independently organized nonprofit charity event hosted here at The Sedalia Center, and this year ALL proceeds will benefit Friends of Campbell County Animal Control.🐶🐾🐱

The fun kicks off Friday with a soft opening featuring scenic trail rides and dance to DJ Michael Goodwin from 11-5!

⭐️Saturday is the big day⭐️, with:

• Show-N-Shine
• Light Show Competition
• Merchandise vendors
• Raffles & 50/50

🐕 **Pet Friendly!**
Leashed pets are welcome in the Jeep parking/show area and campground as long as owners clean up after them. For health and safety reasons, pets are not permitted in the Pavilion, food or vendor areas.

And if you’re coming from out of town, or just want to make a whole weekend of it, you can camp right here at The Sedalia Center!

RV Camping — $50/night, with 30-amp and 50-amp electric hookups available
Tent Camping — $15/night, no electricity

Our campground includes restroom and shower facilities, plus **3 conveniently located water spigots** for filling up as needed. There are no individual water hookups at each site and no gray or black water dumping on the grounds. Dumping is available nearby at the Destination Bedford Virginia Welcome Center.

Campfires are allowed unless a burn ban is in effect and must be contained in a raised fire ring.

Running every Wednesday from September through May (adhering to the school calendar), LAA was such a hit success last year and we can't wait to dive right back in with fun and educational activities for our area's elementary-aged children. Bring any new or gently used coats to the Sedalia Center and leave them in the drop box, outside the office door. We're collecting children’s coats for distribution to area elementary schools and kids in need. Adult sizes are also accepted and will be donated to area high schools as well as other charities. 💕🫶💕

Unfortunately, we have some disappointing news to share.

We have learned that the Southwest Virginia Draft Horse Show will not be able to take place this year. The horse show is the main event and anchor around which the Sedalia Country Gathering is built, and without that activity in the arena, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event on September 5 and regroup for 2027.

This year also brings the loss of someone very special to the Country Gathering. Our dear friend and longtime participant Roy Johnson passed away on May 30. For many years, Roy and Debbie brought their sheep and remarkable border collies to Sedalia, sharing the age-old art of sheep herding and the extraordinary partnership that can develop between people and working animals.

Roy was a farmer who lost both of his hands in a baler accident, yet went on to train generations of working dogs and become an exceptionally skilled handler and mentor. His demonstrations became a beloved part of the Country Gathering, and many of you will remember watching him and his dogs work together in the arena. We will miss him dearly.

Animals and children have always been at the heart of the Sedalia Country Gathering. Rather than move forward with a much smaller version of the event, we want to honor what makes this gathering special and put our energy toward bringing it back in 2027.

Thank you to all of the vendors, demonstrators, competitors, volunteers and community partners who had already committed to being part of this year’s event. We are so grateful for you and sorry we won’t be gathering together this September.

Here’s to bringing the Sedalia Country Gathering back in 2027 — with full hearts and plenty of horsepower. 🐎❤️

Stephanie and Chelsea shared how the Sedalia Center is building on its rich history while creating new opportunities for the community through arts, education, and connection. From hands-on workshops and educational programs to beloved annual festivals, the Center is bringing people of all ages together in meaningful ways.

While many people know the Sedalia Center for signature events like the Celtic Festival, Chili Cook-Off, Country Gathering, and Christmas in Sedalia, they also highlighted exciting new programming happening throughout the year. Upcoming offerings include a Black Bears 101 presentation, a barn quilt painting workshop, art classes, gardening, and the return of Living Arts Afternoons—a free after-school program that gives elementary-aged children the opportunity to explore art, music, gardening, cooking, and more in a fun, hands-on environment.

Our conversation also touched on the Sedalia Center's broader mission of serving as a gathering place for the community. In addition to hosting educational programs and festivals, the Center supports initiatives like the Big Island Elementary Backpack Program, offers 17 acres of grounds that are open for the public to enjoy, and welcomes everything from weddings and family reunions to camping and community partnerships. It's all part of their vision to create a place where people can learn, connect, and experience the beauty of Bedford County together.

Whether you're looking for a family-friendly festival, a creative workshop, an after-school opportunity for your child, or simply a peaceful place to spend an afternoon, the Sedalia Center has something to offer throughout the year!

A little rain couldn’t stop this gathering. ❤️
We’ve been meaning to share these beautiful photos from SedaliaFeast 2026: Blues & Bayou and, more importantly, to say THANK YOU.

The evening didn’t go exactly as planned… a little summer shower moved us from dinner under the stars to gathering under the pavilion, but somehow, it was still every bit as magical as we’d hoped. ✨🎶

The tables were full, the blues were playing and the food was delicious. Friends old and new gathered together. And most importantly, you showed up for Sedalia Center!

To everyone who bought a ticket, placed a bid, donated to our silent auction, volunteered, helped us set the tables, poured drinks, played music, or simply came and enjoyed the evening with us—thank you. Your support helps us continue growing arts programming for children, teens, and adults right here at The Sedalia Center.

Black Bears 101! Free! Tonight! 🐻✨

The Sedalia Center is pleased to welcome Ali Davis from the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources for this special program, covering basic bear biology and bear behaviors. We’ll also talk about bear management in Virginia and living with black bears, and how to better manage human-wildlife conflicts. Ali will additionally address the presence of mange in the region’s black bear populations, as you may have seen wildlife mange in the news lately. 🖤
