Pauma Valley, CA

After college, Crane decided to give acting a shot and moved to Hollywood in 1939.

Although his acting career was brief, he appeared in only three movies, Crane met and married actress Lana Turner in 1942.

Their only daughter, Cheryl, would gain notoriety after stabbing to death Turner’s gangster boyfriend Johnny Stompanato, in what was ruled a justifiable homicide.

Crane sold the Luau for several million in 1979. Soon after the sale of the location, the building was razed, and there is a Beverly Hills Style 'Strip Mall in that location.

Scorpion Bowl From Steve Crane’s Luau
Recipe:
•1oz lime juice
•2oz orange juice
•2oz gold Puerto Rican rum
•2oz gin
•1oz brandy
•3/4oz simple syrup (optional)
•1oz orgeat syrup
•8oz crushed ice

Put everything to a blender.
Spin for 3 seconds.
Pour, unstrained, into a wisely sized bowl.
Drink by yourself or with friends.
