The Yardbird
Smoked pulled chicken, melted cheddar, sautéed mushrooms, cooked in our honey mustard bbq sauce and topped with applewood bacon. This sandwich has a story.

In 2009, Adam Richman brought Man vs Food to Slows in Corktown. He ate our Brisket Enchiladas and The Triple Threat Pork sandwich on the show and tried most of the menu off-camera. Fun Fact: we hosted a rehearsal dinner for Dean from Queens of The Stone Age (and WaxWings) on our patio the same day the episode filmed. Crazy day.

Fast-forward a couple of years and Adam contacted us about a new show - The Best Sandwich in America. He remembered loving the Yardbird and wanted to include on the show. Somehow we made it out of the Midwest region (took down a Chicago Italian Beef) and ended up in the show’s final episode. The Yardbird ultimately finished in the top 3.

Now, we have no idea if the Yardbird is truly one of the top 3 sandwiches in America. But Adam Richman thinks it is. Try one the next time you stop by Slows and judge for yourself.
