Happy Labor Day from all of us at the Troubadour!

Today is for the people who show up early, stay late, build things, fix things, serve people, create, care, clean up, cook, haul gear, work the bar, play the music, and keep their communities moving.

Whether you’re spending the day on the clock, taking a well-earned break, grilling with family, catching up with friends, or just enjoying a little peace and quiet—we hope you get a moment that feels like yours.

We’re still working behind the scenes and getting the Troubadour ready for what’s ahead. There’s a lot of work going into this place, but more than anything, we’re looking forward to creating somewhere everyone can come as they are, hear some good music, share a drink, meet a neighbor, and feel welcome.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us, encouraged us, shared our posts, asked about the reopening, or simply believed in what this little place can become once again.

Scott at Mr. Water is exactly who you want to call when you have a real water problem and need an honest answer. He knows well water inside and out, took the time to understand our situation, and explained everything in a way that actually made sense.

What stood out most was that Scott was focused on solving the problem the right way, not selling us things we didn’t need. He is knowledgeable, straightforward, responsive, and clearly has years of hands-on experience with difficult water issues.

If you are dealing with sediment, iron, sulfur smell, hard water, chlorine treatment, low pressure, filters, or an older system that needs repaired, call Mr. Water. Scott provides the kind of personal service that is hard to find anymore. Highly recommend him to anyone in the Berkeley Springs, Hagerstown, and surrounding Tri-State area.

Some losses hit differently.

Dolly Parton was one of those voices that felt like she had always been here. Her music found its way into long drives, family kitchens, small-town bars, celebrations, heartbreaks, and so many moments in between.

As we work to bring The Troubadours to life, we keep thinking about what music is supposed to do: bring people together, make a room feel like home, and give people a place to forget their troubles for a while. Dolly understood that better than just about anyone.

We may not have our doors open yet, but we already know there will be a place for her music here. There will be songs played a little louder, stories shared over drinks, and plenty of people singing along like they’ve known each other forever.

Thank you, Dolly, for the joy you gave the world and for reminding us all to lead with kindness, laughter, and heart.
Rest easy. You will always be loved. 🤍

We are so incredibly grateful for all of you.

Seeing the messages and comments from folks offering to come volunteer, just because you want to see The Troubadour open again, honestly means more than we can say. It's been overwhelming in the best way possible.

With the number of comments we're getting, though, some things are slipping through the cracks and we don't want to miss anyone who wants to help. If you're still willing to volunteer your time, please send us a direct message letting us know what kind of thing you'd like to help with and when you might be available.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for believing in this place and for being part of the reason we're able to keep the history alive. We can't wait to see you all inside soon.

We’ve been doing a lot of listening lately.

We’ve become aware of incidents and experiences people had at the Troubadour in the past that didn’t reflect what this place should have been. To anyone who felt uncomfortable, unwelcome, or disrespected here, we are genuinely sorry. That’s not the environment we believe in, and it’s not the one we’re bringing back.

When we reopen, the Troubadour will still have its old soul, the music, the energy, the community, but it will be a new era. New leadership, new standards, and a renewed commitment to making sure everyone who walks through our doors feels safe, respected, and like they belong. This applies to both our customers and the people we do business with. You’ll see some new faces, and hopefully a few familiar ones too, but the expectation will be the same for everyone: treat people right.

This is a fresh start. Not just for us, but for the space itself.
We hope you’ll give us another chance when we reopen. If you want to talk before then, whether it’s feedback, concerns, or just a conversation, please feel free to send a message.

We’re looking for people to give us estimates to raise a door in a cinder block wall and pour a properly graded concrete slab outside of it.

If you know a reliable brick mason or company with the right experience for this kind of work, please tag them below. We’re getting one step closer to reopening, and we truly appreciate any leads or recommendations from the community!

Remember not to fall into the trap of oh it's working well enough especially with how the heat has already been this year! A quick check up now might literally save you later this summer or even this winter if you're planning ahead. Stay safe!

It’s been brutal out there lately 😮‍💨 So I wanted to introduce everyone to Max with G-Force Industries, who’s helping bring the Troubadour’s coolers, kegerators, and ice machines back to life as we get ready to reopen. He’s been fast, professional, and reliable the whole way through. If you’re looking for HVAC work done right, I’d definitely recommend them.
