As many of you have seen, the City of Benson has announced residential watering restrictions beginning today through early August as a result of the city water tower rehabilitation project. We wanted to help clear up any confusion regarding irrigation and water use at the Benson Golf Club.

The golf course does not use city drinking water for irrigation. Our irrigation system is supplied entirely by two wells located on golf course property. This water source is completely separate from the municipal water supply used by residents and businesses throughout Benson.

We understand that seeing sprinklers running or green turf during watering restrictions may raise questions, and we appreciate the opportunity to explain the difference. Our goal is always maintaining healthy turf conditions while also being responsible stewards of our water resources.

The Clubhouse will be closed Saturday April 18th due to the cold and windy weather conditions and will reopen Sunday April 19th at 11 AM! Warm weather on the way next week!

Mother Nature doesn’t seem too interested in us starting our golf season anytime soon, but we know it is right around the corner whether it looks like it or not!

We’re hopeful to have a better update for you around the middle of next week, so stay tuned!

The snow cooperated this winter… so we took advantage!

Over the last month we have completed significant tree work around the course. In total, 14 trees were removed, many of which were declining in health or structurally compromised due to rot. The most noticeable areas where work has been completed will be to the right of hole 16 green and the right side of hole 18 fairway. These projects will help improve sunlight, air flow, turf conditions, and overall playability moving forward.

Huge thanks to Justin Stelzer and ALT Tree Service for another job well done. We’re grateful for the reliable and quality work you bring to the Benson Golf Course year after year.
