This July 4th, which falls on a Thursday, commemorates the 248th adoption of the Declaration of Independence. Only thirty-nine of the fifty-five delegates actually signed the original document on July 2nd 1776.

Again, we will read out loud the Declaration of Independence on July 4th at 10:00A at Bedford’s Veterans Memorial Park for all to hear.

You won’t have to wait seven days as George Washington did when he read the Declaration to thousands of Revolutionary soldiers in Manhattan (NYC) on July 9th.

Join us, and listen to the words those merchants, physicians, plantation owners, ministers, and many, many lawyers adopted to declare their independence from King George of England. How true were those words then, how true are those same words and declarations yet today ?

“…..When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth…..a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation”.

We have had a substantial amount of discussion regarding how this current health issue may impact all of us at our Family Post.

While not an easy choice to make, unequivocally it's the only choice to address the health of our membership and at-risk patrons.

We view this action as proactive in nature.

So, with an abundance of caution, until further notice, Friday Night Dances (FND) at our Family Post will be cancelled.
