There is a quiet weight to maintenance work that can easily be overlooked.

This weekend, I finally sat down to repair our taproom taster trays. After a decade of heavy use, the wood had warped, the tops were stained with years of chalk marker, and a few handles had finally split.

These trays were imagined and handcrafted by my father in his old Roseburg workshop. I think that’s why I’ve delayed this task for so long—it felt less like a repair and more like an ending.

Violet walked in while I was working and asked, “Isn't it amazing that Papa made these all those years ago?” It really is. Ten years since he built them, and five years since his passing, repairing the same project feels like a way to bridge the gap.

UPDATE: everything fixed and we are open normal hours today! Huzzah!

Sorry everybody - we had to CLOSE early tonight due to both restroom equipment malfunction and having to be shut down. We are bringing in pros, and expect to be open like normal 11am Saturday.
