Over the past 24 hours, I’ve been genuinely overwhelmed by the kindness, support, and encouragement we’ve received. Truly—this is the biggest “thank you” a business owner could ever receive.
One thing I do want to highlight is the role of social media—especially for Jus1More and so many other small businesses. A lot of effort goes into keeping content consistent: sharing events, specials, menu launches, fundraisers, and all the good things that small businesses bring to their communities. Unfortunately, negativity spreads faster and louder than positivity ever does.
I truly appreciate every comment, share, and conversation—because it helps get the truth out. But I ask that you bring that same energy when businesses are posting about their events, their specials, their new menu items, and the community initiatives they’re supporting. That support matters more than you realize.
I also ask people to be mindful when posting negativity about small businesses. The financial impact of losing a local business on a town is enormous. Business owners pay licensing fees. We pay state, county, and township taxes. We contribute month after month, quarter after quarter. You can ask any local administrative leader how difficult budgeting already is—and how devastating it is when a contributing business disappears. It affects the entire community.
Another piece I want to put into perspective: there have been individuals who publicly criticized my business while, behind the scenes, I was contributing to their children’s extracurricular activities. I’ve had sports teams come to me explaining how empty their accounts are, how parents are struggling, and how they desperately need support. And I step up—because that’s what community means.
When I support the community, I don’t get to pick and choose who supports me back. I make a choice to help or not help, and I choose to help.
Social media has amplified opinions over the past five years—but we have to be conscious of what we’re saying. Letting one bad experience define an entire thriving business is unfair. Looking at reviews is understandable, but amplifying negativity without context can be incredibly damaging.
Small businesses are not faceless corporations. They are people. Families. Employees. Community supporters. And they matter more than ever.
Thank you again to everyone who showed up with kindness, empathy, and support. It does not go unnoticed—and it means more than you know. 💛
