Week 35 Progress Update -

Sunshine Sisters Plant Shop did an awesome job on our planters this week. Craig Distributing, Co, Inc. set up our Beer Cooler. Twisted Land Services LLC. filled our dumpster pad with gravel, but it rained too much to commit to the concrete. They plan to pour it one night next week. CD's Mobile Auto Wash power washed the 3rd floor siding and readied it for painting. We ordered polo shirts for our staff from Pro-Prints Sign Imaging LLC.

Week 34 Progress Update -

The new awning went up yesterday, out with the old in with the new look! BW Upholstery did an amazing job. They also put up the original one 30 years ago. Sunshine Sisters Plant Shop will be doing the flower beds this next week. We are excited to have their help! (Can’t wait to get that 3rd floor painted (hint)) The ice machine is in and the bin is full of ice! The glass ware and some of the dish ware has been unpacked. We even have a couple of volunteers who are going to wash it for us (talk about anxious 🍺🥃🍷). Rumpke approved of our dumpster location out back so we can get it poured asap. We will also be contacting the alcohol distributors this week and the Health Department for our final inspection so we can get our permit to open!

Week 33 Progress Update -

The correct ice machine was finally installed by Coke, we just need to hookup the drains. The old awning was removed from the facade of the building and the new one will be installed later this week or early next. The glassware and related supplies started showing up faster than we could get them all put away. Hoping to get the concrete slab for the trash dumpster completed this week and the blinds installed on the 3rd floor. Sometime soon we will get the 3rd floor facade painted black to finish the new look.

Week 32 Progress Update -

Coke told us the correct ice machine shipped Thursday and they will install it as soon as they receive it. But we don’t have a date yet. It rained all week so we couldn’t pour the dumpster slab. We are replacing the awning on the front of the building. The current one is at end of life and we are worried it will come apart on some one, especially with all the wind we seem to have now. So it is coming down this week and a new one installed the week after. Once we have these 3 things completed we can set an opening date. The kitchen and the bar area are ready. We have been ordering operating supplies and product. They will start arriving next week. We are excited and while the uncontrollable delays have been very frustrating they have not dampened our enthusiasm! Thank you all for the kind words and understanding and sticking with our seemingly endless updates! 🥃🍷🍺

Week 31 Progress Update -

Good news is Coke installed the soda gun behind the bar, the sign went up this week, and the dig for the concrete slab for the dumpster out back was started! Bad news is Coke brought the wrong ice machine with them and had to re-order the one we actually purchased. I guess when you order a bourbon and Coke, maybe we’ll have to ask is Pepsi okay? 🥲. Also, the dumpster slab was supposed to be poured Saturday, it rained instead. Two steps forward two steps back! We’re trying!

Week 30 Progress Update -

We plugged in all the coolers that arrived last week and they checked out. Our outside barrel-top sign, which will be mounted just to the right of the front door, was finished and is ready to Install. This coming week is a big one. The soda gun and ice machine will be installed along with the cocktail station.

Week 29 Progress Update -

The refrigerator, freezer, and all the alcohol coolers finally showed up at the end of the week! We unboxed them all and moved them into the building Saturday and Sunday. We have to let them sit at least 24 hours to plug them all in. So we will do that this week over the next few days so we don’t overwhelm our electrical circuits doing them all at the same time. The blinds have been installed on the first and second floor. The third floor will be installed this coming week. Next big event won’t be until May 11th when Coke installs their soda system, and the ice machine. We can then install the cocktail system the same day after they are finished. In the meantime we are ordering the small ware supplies. 🥃🍷🍺

Week 28 Progress Update -

Well, we thought all our alcohol related coolers and equipment would arrive last week, they didn’t 😢. Now we are expecting them Monday or Tuesday. The week wasn’t a total loss, Wednesday the Ripley County Health Department inspected our bar layout and the kitchen remodel and approved of them. We immediately ordered our kitchen refrigeration equipment and expect it next week too. They will inspect us one more time the week before we open. As our inspection went well we did apply for our Health Department Operating Permit which was the next step. We are getting down to the small-wares, menu, and drink lists now! 😅
