THIS. This is our favorite part of what we do. ❤️
Tonight, this grandmother-and-granddaughter duo were in town when their car broke down around the block. They’re from Mountain Home and Evening Shade, and while they were figuring out what to do next, they came around the corner and found The Twisted Spud.
They’d never been here before. They looked over the menu, decided to stay for dinner, and just happened to walk in on trivia night. I asked if they wanted to play, they said yes… and they proceeded to have the BEST time. 🥹
They ate dinner, played trivia, grabbed dessert to take with them, and even picked up a magnet so they could remember their unexpected stop at The Spud. Before they left, they assured us they’ll absolutely be back.
And THIS is why we do it. 🥹🥹
Owning a restaurant, it can be so easy to dwell on the times we miss the mark—the customer we didn’t make happy, the service that wasn’t what it should’ve been, the one experience we wish we could redo.
But the truth is, so much of the time, THIS is the story.
It’s the people.
It’s hearing where you came from, how you ended up here, whether it’s your very first visit or your hundredth. It’s learning your favorite thing on the menu, laughing with you during trivia, celebrating your birthdays, watching your families come through the door, and getting to be a tiny part of your memories.
Tonight, a broken-down car brought two people through our doors who otherwise may have never found us—and they left as part of our Spud family. ❤️🥔
We are just incredibly thankful that you keep choosing to walk through those doors and let us do what we do.
