Hours change — effective immediately
New hours are below.
Unfortunately, it has become clear that we will not be able to get a liquor license for the bar. Without it, we simply cannot bring in enough to cover the bills, let alone turn any kind of profit.
I have been putting thousands of dollars of my own money into this place to keep the lights on and the doors open. Even with that, we have a couple of big bills that have not been getting paid. That is not fair to those people, and we cannot keep going into winter losing money every week. We have to try something.
We are now closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Monday hours are cut way back so we can still try to catch Monday Night Football. Sunday stays open for football. If we can get a decent crowd for the games, we will stay open those days. If we cannot, we will have to close those two days as well.
We have tried hard to turn this around and make it work. We have amazing customers who have helped keep the doors open, and we are grateful for every one of you. But we are drowning, and we have to make a change before we have to close the doors altogether.
We are posting this for full transparency. I do not like to hide things or sugarcoat it — that is not fair to the people who have been so good to us. We are not looking for sympathy. This decision did not come easy. Please be kind.
We have tried events. By the time we pay for everything, we usually either make about the same as a regular night (with a lot more work) or we lose more money than if we had done nothing. I honestly do not know what else we can do right now.
This was not an easy call. It feels like we are left without many options.
And for the people who have never owned a business and want to comment that we must be making money and I am just pocketing it: I am happy to sit down with you and go through the books so you can see how far we are in the hole every week and every month. It will be $100 an hour with a 3-hour minimum. If you can prove me wrong, you can post it right here, I will buy you dinner for two, and there will be no charge for the time. Since I know that is not going to happen, please bring cash. Maybe it will help us crawl out of this hole a little. 😆
