The Common Root Community Center We are a community center starting in Bar Harbor, ME. Our Vision
Today, people are disconnected: from the environment, from one another, from themselves.

We are working in partnership with a number of organizations on the island and downeast Maine to be a resource center for the community, offering support and space for community activities. These disconnections allow us to exploit our planet and each other. We live in fear of our strength. All people have the power to effect change, but our society has disengaged us. We strive to learn our strengt

hs, personally and as a community, and use them to create the world that we seek. To address these concerns and begin to remake our world, we would like to create a community center in Bar Harbor. We believe that change in this world does not happen merely in congressional buildings and at international conferences, but in empowering each person within each of our communities. We believe that how we interact with our neighbors and the respect that we show to all the people around us can be radical actions. In providing a space for the exploration and growth of ourselves and the reconnection of our community, we believe that we can help people change how they view themselves, view those around them, and view the world.
