Today, its with a deeply heavy heart to have to say that the Town Tavern of Blowing Rock will be closed the remainder of today and tomorrow as we give our staff and Tavern family time to mourn the heartbreaking loss of Dylan Roberts, who was tragically taken from us in a swimming accident while vacationing with his family. Dylan was far more than a valued employee....he was a crucial part of our family, bringing an unmistakable energy, warmth, and positive spirit to the Tavern day after day. In an industry often marked by long hours and difficult struggles, Dylan brought life, laughter, and purpose. Despite his young age, he became a true leader through his extraordinary work ethic, dependability, and willingness to help those around him. He was determined to build a better life for himself and his longtime love, Maggie Day, whose love and encouragement inspired him to become the man and leader he was capable of being. The Town Tavern became Dylan’s canvas, and through his dedication, personality, and heart, he left a lasting mark on our staff, our customers, and our community. We are devastated by the loss of such a remarkable young man and deeply mourn not only our coworker, but our friend and family member. We ask that you keep Maggie, Dylan’s family, and everyone who loved him in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you to all of our customers and our Blowing Rock community for your compassion, patience, and support as the Tavern family takes this time to grieve. Dylan will forever be loved, remembered, and deeply missed.
