Golden West relocated to its current, larger space in 2003, in order to accommodate the constantly expanding crowd of loyal regulars and curious new customers. Our newly reconceived dining room boasts an eclectic setting for customers while they enjoy our house-made specialities, old school lunches and dinner favorites. Our Long Bar has become one of Baltimore’s favorite late night hotspots, and is open all day for eats and drinks, with food served till late. Golden West sources from local producers such as Springfield Farm, Cherry Glen Farm and Taharka Brothers Ice Cream. We are also proud to serve a wide array of vegan and vegetarian options, and have a full gluten-free menu that includes our house-made desserts. We are located at 1105 W. 36th Street, in Hampden, one of Baltimore’s most distinct neighborhoods. Our atmosphere is casual, family-friendly and often bustling. This September, we’re getting into ambition, existential crises, family drama, oceanic revenge missions, and one very determined fox.

9/7 Rushmore — Academic weapon? Social menace? Theater kid with a god complex? Max Fischer is somehow all three. A movie about being young, having BIG feelings, and being convinced you are destined for greatness… even when literally no one else agrees.

9/14 The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou — Ocean adventures, questionable life choices, tiny red hats, and a crew held together by vibes. Steve Zissou is on a mission, and honestly? We’re not totally sure what the mission is either. Weird, beautiful, hilarious, and just a little emotionally devastating.

9/21 The Royal Tenenbaums — Everyone in this family is talented. Everyone is also deeply unwell. A dysfunctional family masterpiece full of old grudges, questionable outfits, childhood trauma, and somehow… a lot of love. Basically: family group chat, but make it Wes Anderson.

9/28 Fantastic Mr. Fox — Mr. Fox promised his family he would stop doing crimes. Mr. Fox immediately went back to doing crimes. Respectfully, we support the commitment to the bit. A perfectly chaotic story about being yourself, protecting your people, and absolutely refusing to live a boring life.

Gang, what a sad day for us all. Growing up, my grandparents exposed us to a lot of amazing music. Every night, they fell asleep to the warm glow of the bedside radio set to KSON, the old country station in San Diego. Our house was filled with old blues, country classics and lots of love.

Dolly Parton was part of our celebrations every holiday. Her sweet voice, capable of such joy and absolute heartbreak, was the soundtrack of our childhood. I have always admired her spirit, her sense of justice, generosity and her absolute not giving a f**k what people had to say about her. She was a real one and a terrible loss for a world so needing people to love other people well.

Dolly was a trailblazer, an icon and philanthropist, working on childhood literacy, education, medical research and disaster relief.

We are working on a fundraiser in her honor and Drag Dolly-oke! Think wig contest.. Coming in September, MORE INFO SOON!!

In the meantime, put on your best wig, get your nails done and be unapologetically wonderful and think of our gal, Ms Dolly Rebecca Parton!

Steak au poivre- Steak cooked to temp, french fries, and au poivre sauce on top. Perfect to pair with that lunch martini!

Fish n' chips- an 8oz tempura battered piece of fresh cod, french fries, and a roasted jalapeño tartar sauce and our cole slaw.
