Loyola University produced a documentary on Baltimore's connection to Poe and his poem "The Raven." I'm proud to say that RavenBeer played a key part. Alex Zavistovich of the National Edgar Allan Poe Theatre explained the hidden meaning of Poe's "The Raven" and its connection to people, not just here in Baltimore but everywhere. Jay O'Brien of the Baltimore Ravens described the intricacies of using Poe's poem in representing the team.

I am proud that I finally finished my State of Maryland Bottle Crown Map. These were from those I collected over the years, trading a few and purchasing others from eBay. Although I do not have definitive proof, I suspect that RavenBeer has used more crown varieties than any other Maryland brewer. Natty Boh may have more, but that product has not been brewed in Maryland since the 1990s, so some of those crowns on my map, or others, may not actually qualify as Maryland products.

CAST HIGHLIGHT: Ian Blackwell Rogers as Edgar Allan Poe 🐦‍⬛.

Ian has been playing Edgar Allan Poe for some time, in immersive productions in DC and VA, "A Dream Within a Dream" and "A Dream Within a Dream: Madness" with Through the 4th Wall Productions, as well as here and there at events in DC and Baltimore. He's done a lot of Shakespeare and other early modern plays with the Baltimore Shakespeare Factory and Brave Spirits Theatre. Weirdly, he's never done any version of “A Christmas Carol” before.
