The Mobtown Ballroom, located in historic Pigtown, is Baltimore's premiere location for social dance events, dance classes, live music, conferences, weddings, and general mayhem. At the Ballroom you will find dancing, burlesque, art shows, and pretty much everything you could want in an evening out. A restored 1870s church, the space boasts a 2,500 square foot sprung dance floor, a 1,200 square foot stage, and a full bar.

COME DANCE IN BALTIMORE!

June 19, 20, and 21 we are dancing Lindy Hop, but slowly. How slowly? Still swing-out-able. This isn’t blues or amorphous self expression (not that we can’t have a little of both); we are talking Lindy Hop to groovy and smooth, slower tempos.

We’ve got:
2 days of workshops with Sylvia Sykes, Javier Johnson, Carla Heiney, Kyra Isaacs, Rye Crowen, Charlie Wieprecht, Michael Seguin, Sarah Sullivan, and more to come soon.

2 nights of live music with different bands, both featuring the incredible Taryn NewBorne (). Friday’s band will be led by Ed Hrybryck - , and Saturday by Leigh Pilzer - )

2 competitions: Slow Strictly Lindy and Slow Mix & Match

Lots of people think that dancing, especially partner dancing, is for people with a partner. Or young people. Or shredded people. Or people who danced as a kid.

Sure, dancing is for them; but it’s also for everyone else. So, has the world twisted you into a festering ball of anxiety? Be brave and leave your house to try something new! Our swing dance classes start in just over a week, and they are a great way to make friends, move around, and bring some joy into the world.

💃🏽You don’t need a partner; we rotate
🕺🏼You don’t need experience; most people don’t have any
🦶🦶You can have two left feet; most of us do it for fun, not for glory

Beginner class options:
Mondays, 6:45-8pm, 6/1-7/6
OR
Wednesdays, 6:45-8pm, 6/3-7/8

Too nervous and want to dip your toe in? Come through for a one-off drop-in lesson any Monday or Friday for $10!
