“Los Primos” is a love letter to the food that shaped the spiritual cousins and chef partners Chefs Gerald Darling and Will Cochrane’s lives as wild boys and “cocineros” of the Caribbean and Creole Diaspora.

It’s a tribute to the elders and ancestors who taught them how to cook, dance, love life, and gave them the understanding that we all are “primos” who hold simultaneously our uniqueness and shared heritage proudly on our shoulders and our plates.

Each dish combines Caribbean, French, Spanish, and Afro-Indigenous flavors and “Sazon”, telling a rich story of shared heritage, history and family.

This Sunday from 12-4, a truly special pop up from .asides and will take place at Comptoir. No reservations, order at the counter. Bar is open and wine from the bottle shop will be available. I got to experience a sneak peak of the menu on a rooftop one evening and it was transcendent. If you miss the Canteen or summer feasts at the Compound this is for you.
