Boulevard's barrel program has produced some absolute legends over the years, and we've got two of their heavy hitters on the shelf right now.
🍫 Whiskey Barrel Stout
A massive imperial stout brewed with malted barley, rye, oats, and wheat before spending up to a year (or more) in first- and second-use whiskey casks. Roughly two-thirds of the final blend sees barrel time, creating layers of vanilla, espresso, whiskey, dark chocolate, roasted grain, and subtle notes of date and plum. Despite all that intensity, it remains remarkably smooth and balanced. At 11.8% ABV, this is a slow-sipper built for stout lovers and barrel-aged beer fans alike.
🍒 Bourbon Barrel Quad
Inspired by Boulevard's iconic Sixth Glass, this Belgian-style quadrupel spends up to three years aging in Holladay bourbon barrels. During aging, cherries are added to compensate for the "angel's share" lost to evaporation, contributing subtle dark fruit complexity rather than overt cherry flavor. The finished beer showcases rich notes of toffee, vanilla, oak, bourbon warmth, and dark fruit wrapped in classic Belgian quad character. A complex, contemplative beer that rewards every sip.
Both are barrel-aged.
Both are over 11%.
Both are phenomenal.
The real question is:
🍫 Rich whiskey-soaked chocolate and espresso?
OR
🍒 Belgian dark fruit, bourbon, oak, and toffee?
Which one are you grabbing first? 👀🍻
