The Crest Bar and Grill Drive-in Movie Theater in Bakersfield, California opened its gates in 1963.

The Crest was able to keep the gates open for thirty-five years before having to close them in 1998. Fortunately for visitors and the community, the Bakersfield KOA Journey brought back part of the amazing Crest Drive-in with its restaurant, The Crest Bar and Grill. The Crest is a casual dining, full-service restaurant and bar for the local community and RV guests.

The Crest Bar and Grill staff would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the Bakersfield community! We are deeply humbled by the outpouring of support during our final days, following the unexpected decision to close our doors. A special thank you is owed to Ed Patterson and Family for their vision in establishing the restaurant and RV park.

After many wonderful years of serving our guests and the Bakersfield community, Crest Bar & Grill will be closing its doors. This decision comes with heavy hearts, as this restaurant has been more than just a place to eat — it’s been a gathering spot for families, friends, and travelers passing through.

Today, November 7th, 2025 will be our final day of business.

We want to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who has dined with us, shared memories, and supported our team over the years. Your patronage, kindness, and friendship have meant the world to us.

Thank you to our Bakersfield community and to guests near and far for your support and for being part of the Crest Bar & Grill family.

After many wonderful years of serving our guests and the Bakersfield community, we want to share that Crest Bar & Grill will be closing its doors. Our final day of business will be Friday, November 7th, 2025.

This was not an easy decision. Over the years, Crest has become so much more than a restaurant — it’s been a place where friendships formed, families gathered, and memories were made. From our regulars who’ve shared countless meals with us to the travelers who stopped in along the way, each of you has left a mark on our story.

As we begin our final week, we want to raise a glass to you. Starting today through our last day, we’re offering half off all shots. We hope you’ll stop by, share a laugh, a toast, and a few more memories with the team that’s been here to welcome you time and again.

Thank you, Bakersfield, for your kindness, your loyalty, and for making Crest Bar & Grill such a special place.
