Location: Downtown Winslow 2015, Bainbridge Island, WA 98110
History: This festival began after the Foxfire Bluegrass Band from New Mexico played a single concert at the Island Music Guild in 2005. After that show, which was standing room only, a group of friends noticed the strong desire for Bluegrass music here and got together to plan the very first Bainbridge Bluegrass Festival for the foll
owing summer. After many months of work by an all-volunteer committee, local sponsors, and help from the Parks District, the first all-day event occurred on Saturday, July 29, 2006. By our good fortune, the Foxfire Bluegrass Band was able to return a year after their first appearance and be one of the 8 bands featured that day. From those humble beginnings the Bainbridge Bluegrass Festival has continued to build each year and draws enthusiastic audiences and the best bands from all over the region to one of the island’s favorite summer events. When: The Bainbridge Bluegrass Festival is an annual event and occurs on the last Saturday of July. To assure a longer future and a deeper connection to the community the event is being reorganized. The 2015 event will be a smaller event in the downtown area of Winslow as a first step toward an expanded two day event in 2016. What we need:
