Happy Friday!

It's finally time, we've got this year's batch of Sleepy Hollow's Revenge Pumpkin Pie Ale on tap and in 4-packs to-go.

This b**r is a labor of love. Ryan and Krystina wake up early and roast 200 pounds of pumpkin in the pizza ovens at Parry's Pizza in Avondale to get it ready for the pumpkin b**rs, then Ryan adds a secret blend of pumpkin pie spices (ginger, allspice, nutmeg, and 2 kinds of cinnamon).

The result is pumpkin pie in a glass.

Have a great Labor Day weekend and come get this one before it's gone.

Happy Wednesday!

Ryan managed to get his hands on fresh hops again this year thanks to help from Yakima Valley Hops and CLS Farms! At this time yesterday, these hops were still on a vine in Yakima.

This year he's got fresh picked Dolcita hops which are the new ones he used in Bonus Fruit this year to give it fruit salad notes.

He's already hard at work infusing a keg each of Hopsassin's Creed, Legend of Zymur, and Bonus Fruit so that they're ready to tap right at open today.

If you've never had a fresh/wet hopped b**r be sure to come in to try one tonight. These are fairly rare outside of hop growing states and at their best the day they are tapped.

Have a great week everyone!

Happy Saturday!

Today we're tapping a fan favorite version of Untitled Gose Game, Fruit Punch Kool Aid!

It's been a couple years since we've done this version so we expect it to go quickly.

The sourness of the gose blends perfectly with the sweetness of the fruit punch to create a b**r that tastes like a fruit punch sour patch kid that's perfect for the summer heat.

This version is available on tap only (no cans, but we can fill growlers).

Have a great weekend everyone!

It's 7am and Ryan and Krystina are hard at work roasting the pumpkin for Sleepy Hollow's Revenge at Parry's Pizza Parry's Pizza. Let's hear it for City of Avondale, AZ local businesses helping each other out!

This is what helps Sleepy Hollow's Revenge taste great. No syrups, concentrates, or chemical flavorings, just twice roasted pumpkin and Ryan's secret pumpkin spice blend.

Hey Ya'll!

First off, happy International B**r Day! Secondly, even though it took me a few more days than I'd hoped, I've finally updated all the cryptic clues posted about "Mango is Appalled" with what each one meant if you want to go back and get a peek into the crazy place that is my brain!

On that note... holy crap, last weekend was surreal! I was really excited to release this b**r due to the insane amount of our regulars that are reading / have read Dungeon Crawler Carl. Heck, I've been slowly (book 6) making my way through the series since last November, it's the first time I've read a book for fun in over 15 years!

I had a blast designing the label, it was a good 6 hours of looking at the newer book covers and tinkering with letter spacing and making a mango dinosaur until I got it just right. I figured dressing up for it would be fun. It was the first time I've ever dressed up for a b**r release, and Krystina wanted an excuse to "ride" a dinosaur around the brewery for the night.

I expected to see a little pop on our social media and some extra excitement in the tasting room when I made the post. I did not expect the b**r to go viral over the weekend.

It tore across Instagram, Facebook groups, and apparently even made it's way to Reddit. I still haven't been brave enough to read the comments on Reddit, even though I've heard they're almost all positive, because I don't want to be tempted to respond to the negative ones to defend us!

We blew through the first keg of the b**r in about 8 hours, which is one of the fastest ever. Everyone came out in force for the cans as well and cleaned them out in 6 days, that's something I haven't seen since pre-covid. It was crazy, but really awesome too. We've still got plenty on tap.

I guess that's a really long way of saying thank you to everyone that came out to support us over the past week. It's been a blast to share this fandom with everyone. I thought that after 11 years of doing this I was done being surprised, then ya'll go and catch me off guard!

Since we forgot last week in all the madness (and since it's international b**r day), I'm doing all 4 flagships for Flagship Friday tonight.

-Ryan / Dollar Store Carl

p.s. I do not recommend walking around on the hard packed concrete floor of the tasting room barefoot all night. I spent the next 2 days trying not to show the amount of pain I was in, but it was worth it for the joke!

New Achievement! Gaslit By A "Brewer"

Congratulations Crawler! For the past few weeks you've endured posts with cryptic clues and pictures that look like they were posted by your half senile, racist grandfather trying to be subtly political without getting yelled at by your great aunt.

Ninja Turtles, Adult Swim shows, salt flats, mango seeds, a bad picture of Queen Anne, Seattle, and an atrocious image created by an inferior AI all assaulted your eye holes just so some sweaty dude could troll you while he threw fruit into a perfectly good pale ale.

Now you're stuck with 2 geeks dressed like dollar store versions of Carl and Donut running around the Avondale Warehouse District acting like they're clever because they changed one letter in a phrase and slapped a label that's borderline copyright infringement onto a can of b**r.

I know it's not technically gaslighting, but who are you, the psychological buzzword police? Screw you!

Reward: Mango is Appalled

This started off as a perfectly good pale ale recipe. Then some Mordecai wannabe decided to use Sabro hops instead of a more traditional hop and further bastardized the style by throwing a bunch of mangos into it!

Get ready for grumpy old guys who like to tell you they've been to Germany shouting, "Don't you have any b**r flavored b**r?!?!" across the room when they see this one on the menu. Ignore them, they're wrong.

This "b**r" starts off with a huge tropical aroma and a sweet touch of mango that would make Kiwi jealous. Sure there's fruit in your b**r, but it quickly gives way to the crisp pale ale that's hiding in your glass.

Is it a great b**r? Yes. Will you be able to get 8-Bit Aleworks to ship cans to you? Nope. Unless you're Matt Dinniman, they'll probably make an exception for him.

Tomorrow's the big day of the reveal!

We're pretty sure this last clue is going to give it away to at least a few people.

NOTHING in this image is by mistake!

***Edit/Update***

We really thought someone was going to figure out what was coming with this post.

Matt Dinniman went to college at U of A before moving out to Seattle and writing this series so Ryan tried to make a sportsball reference out of it.

This was purposely generated via AI with the tag included and the Google Gemini symbol left in the lower right hand corner to represent the deranged AI in the book.

Lastly the neon + Hawks Den was meant to be reminiscent of a safe room.

We're only a few days away from all of Ryan's cryptic clues on the secret b**r. It'll be out this Friday on draft and packaged to go.

This one is a huge hint but the last one will probably give it away!

***Edit/Update***

This is a picture Ryan took at Kerry Park, near the top of the neighborhood of Queen Anne in Seattle. Ever wonder why Princess Donut was the Queen Anne Chonk? This is where Bea's parents lived!

Ryan took the time to remove street signs, park signs, and every Washington license plate, then circled the California plate partly to be a jerk, and partly because he was putting a bit of a West Coast IPA spin on the pale ale!

Happy Tuesday!

Today we're tapping a new version of the gose, this one is infused with Apriums!

Apriums are an apricot that was pollinated by plum pollen instead of apricot pollen (which sets it apart from a Pullot which is a crossbred Plum and Apricot). They have a strong apricot flavor with hints of plum and raspberry and add a deep red / hot pink color to the gose.

This version of the gose doesn't come around often because Ryan hates trying to process the little bitty pits out of 15 pounds of them!

Speaking of Ryan, he's giving another clue on Batch #304 for the second image (the one that's obviously not fruit) - "Don't be too salty when this gets revealed!"

Have a great week everyone!

***Edit/Update***
The second image, the salt flats, was just meant to represent the earth going flat at the start of the book series. The salt part was just to throw everyone off a bit.
