COME ON JERSEY SHORE ADMIN!! KEEP OUR TAX DOLLARS LOCAL AND SUPPORT BUSINESS IN OUR COMMUNITY. I'M SURE YOU WILL NOT LOWER OUR TAX DOLLARS IF YOU SAVE ANY MONEY AT ALL. LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE!!!
Today our buses hauled our student’s home for the last time this school year, depending on the outcome of the next school board meeting it could be the last day of school for our buses forever. On Monday, June 8th, 2026 at 7:00 PM, the Jersey Shore Area School District will vote on who will transport our children for the future. Right now, Windecker Enterprises /DBA Mardens INC School Bus Company — a company that has served this community for generations — is in jeopardy of losing that role. The JSASD is looking to replace us with Rohrer bus a large company based out of Harrisburg.
For 84 years, Windecker has been part of our daily lives. They’ve driven our kids to their first day of kindergarten, to field trips, to graduations… and then years later, they’re driving those same kids’ children. That’s not just a contract. That’s a relationship built on trust.
Windecker drivers aren’t strangers behind a wheel. They’re neighbors. Parents. Familiar faces who wave every morning and make sure our kids feel safe getting on the bus. Many have been doing this for years as much as 50 years. Some of their own children and grandchildren go to JSASD. They know our roads, our families, and our kids by name.
And when the weather is at its worst — snow, ice, blizzards, pouring rain — we show up. If school is open, they’re there. Because they know parents are counting on them, and kids are depending on them. Without of transportation service there would be no way for many families to get to and from school.
We employ 26 dedicated people, ALL who live right here in our community. These aren’t just employees, they’re the people you see at the grocery store, at local games, at school events. Losing us doesn’t just change a bus company. It impacts families, livelihoods and a piece of our town’s history.
Replacing an 84-year-old local, family-owned company with a large outside corporation like Rohrer bus means risking everything that makes our transportation feel personal and safe. It could mean new drivers who don’t know our kids, our streets, or our community — just more unfamiliar faces transporting the people we care about most.
Our children know our drivers. They trust them. Parents trust them. That kind of comfort and familiarity can’t be recreated overnight.
84 years of early mornings, snowy routes, smiling greetings and safe rides home. That legacy deserves to continue — not end because of a poor contract decision.
This isn’t just about buses.
It’s about people.
It’s about trust.
It’s about the community we want for our children.
If we have ever safely brought your child home, greeted them with a smile, or been part of your family’s school memories, please stand with us now.
Help our School Bus Company and keep our kids riding with the drivers who know and care about them. Support local. Support our community. Support Windecker attend Mondays board meeting and voice your thoughts its time to stand our ground as a community!!
