We regret to inform you the club will be closed this Tuesday due to flooding in the building. One of the joys of being a basement venue.

We cannot WAIT to get back to business on Wednesday! Come out and share a drink with us—we need one.

“A bone man with an eye-poppingly diverse resume has had a sweet spot for small group sounds for over 30 years. Feeding off the intimate energy of bringing the gang to a club that responds to him solidly, he responds by musically letting all know he’s just one of those cats that has it and doesn’t need prompting to show it.” — Midwest Record

Since her debut in 2019, Veronica Swift has ascended to the upper echelons of 21st Century jazz singers because of her virtuosic brilliance, interpretive ingenuity, bracing songwriting, and keen arrangements. She’s one of the most dazzling and versatile singers to emerge in her generation.

While her first two albums solidified her position in modern jazz, Veronica’s latest material shows that she’s more than a jazz singer, exploring French and Italian opera, European classical music, bossa nova, blues, rock, funk, and vaudeville. She pulls all of it off with her artistic voice remaining firmly intact, regardless of genre.

Expect an energetic, unforgettable declaration of artistic freedom from a uniquely talented voice.

Greatly influenced by Sinatra, Dino, Tony Bennett, Mel Torme, Tom Jones, Bobby Darin, and Sammy Davis Jr, Ricki Derek has made it his mission in life to channel the greats of past and present… with his own style. Whether he’s performing with his 24-piece orchestra, his 15-piece big band, or simply leaning against a piano, he always surrounds himself with the best musicians.

Seeing a Ricki show is like taking a time machine to the Vegas strip in the early ‘60s—without losing all that money. Sounds like a win!!

There’s a snowstorm preventing the excellent Goldings/Bernstein/Stewart Organ Trio—described by The New York Times as “the best organ trio of the last decade”—from traveling to Texas right now. Sadly, their show tomorrow (Tuesday) night at Parker has been canceled.

We are working with the band to reschedule and will announce that date LOUDLY once we have it.

Anyone in the mood for some live jazz on a fine Tuesday evening in downtown Austin is most welcome just next door at ! They’re happy to waive the usual cover for your listening pleasure.

Celebrate the legacy of San Marcos-born jazz pioneer Eddie Durham, an American jazz guitarist, a pioneer of the electric guitar in jazz, a trombonist, and one of the most important composer–arrangers of the Swing Era. Born in 1906, Durham started his career in San Marcos with the Durham Brothers Orchestra. By the 1930s, he was writing, arranging, and performing big band jazz for the likes of The Count Basie Orchestra and Glenn Miller.

In joyous tribute to this legendary Texan, our stage will feature an absolutely stellar big band including members of the Duke Ellington Orchestra, Count Basie Orchestra, and Harry Connick Jr’s Big Band, with local luminaries filling out the sections—performing music Durham wrote for Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Jimmie Lunceford, and more!

From our own Jeremy Bruch…

About three years ago, I spent a couple days shooting with my buddy (and bartender supreme at jazz clubs Parker and Nica) Oliver Gelleni for a short film he was making about a drummer, desperate and down on his luck. I spent an entire day in this makeup and very much in character and in a dark place. On the drive home, there was a car driving very aggressively around me and I cut him off at a light ano waited for him to catch me at the next one. I rolled down my window and scowled, "We good?" and he got one look at my face and was like, "Yeah, man. Yeah. All good. Sorry..."

Anyway, that film is now released into the wild and have included the link so you can see my acting debut (that Netflix film doesn't count). It's a short run time at about 8 minutes and you get to see me get my ass kicked in the opening scene! Also, language warning for anyone watching with children. Sorry, mom.

When the clock runs out on an impossible debt, a drummer choses to face the music head on.
