🕊️ In Loving Memory of John Stephen Faulk (1950–2026)
The Zilker Theatre Productions family mourns the passing of John Stephen Faulk, a beloved volunteer, advocate, and champion of the arts who dedicated years of service to preserving and improving our cherished Zilker Hillside Theater.
John began volunteering with ZTP in 2009 and quickly became an instrumental part of our organization. His passion for community, accessibility, and the performing arts helped shape the Hillside we know and love today.
From championing ADA accessibility improvements to serving as a fundraiser and liaison between ZTP and the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department, John’s contributions left a lasting impact on our mission to make live theatre accessible to all.
In 2011, ZTP established the John S. Faulk Award in recognition of his extraordinary dedication to improving and preserving local theatres and performance venues. His legacy continues through this award and the countless lives touched by his generosity and service.
Beyond the Hillside, John was a gifted musician, a devoted family man, and someone who found great joy in helping others.
As we reflect on his life, we are reminded that the magic of the Hillside is made possible by people like John, who give their time, talents, and hearts to ensure this Austin tradition continues for generations.
Our deepest condolences go out to his wife of 56 years, Linda, their son Kevin, his eight grandchildren, and all who knew and loved him.
Thank you, John, for helping make the Hillside a place where everyone belongs. Your legacy will live on. đź’›
